Logic on a newer computer?

I have purchased and installed Logic Pro X on a Macbook Pro.

I have a newer iMac ordered and on its way.

Can I transfer the Logic Pro X installation to the the newer iMac?

The same question here applies to Final Cut Pro I purchased and

installed on the same Macbook Pro.

I can see that this is going to be a complicated affair because there

are numerous plugins from Native Instruments and IK Media, as well

as Fishman TriplePlay software that also need to be installed to match

the current configuration of software, peripherals, plugins etc.

Thank you for time and attention

Yes you won't be charged. You can install Logic and FCP on each computer that you own. Below the ULA for Logic. Look at section 2.

In that situation a fresh install is the best.

For Logic and FCP just reinstall from the Mac App Store using the Apple ID used to purchase them.

For third party plugins and softwares pay attention to licensing and registering issues.

The new iMac will come with macOS Mojave. If your Macbook Pro runs a previous macOS version be sure to validate the compatibility of your third party devices, plugins and software with Mojave.

Final note: Always good to do a full backup before proceeding. That ways you can restart fresh if something goes wrong.

Hope that helps,

I presume this means I won't be charged again for the new installation. If I am correct, how many

installations are possible before having to pay for them again. They aren't cheap. I don't know

where the license agreement would be if I have it.

The iMac is used (new to me) and I think it has High Sierra on it, if I remember correctly. That is the

same as the Macbook Pro.

Yes, I have to find out if I can use the same activation codes of second installations of plugins

from the same disc image for the third party software.

Thank you this is helpful:
