Can anyone please advise how to re-name web page icons in the Mac OS dock?
Not all icons name themselves properly when dragged down to the dock; for example the Flipboard web page icon has the name "Cover Stories" in my dock, which is what I'd like to change to "Flipboard".

When I drag the url from the Flipboard home page I get "Flipboard - Personalized for any interest". As far as renaming, drag to the Desktop first, rename the file, then drag into the Dock.

I did as you suggested and could then rename the icon .... but the icon itself changed to one with WEBLOC in caps across it! I now need to research how to change the icon graphic once I have changed the icon name!
You're welcome. FWIW, that's the icon I get whenever I drag a web location to the Desktop or wherever.
