Whenever I plug in a microphone to the ipad the internal speakers stop working. I would really like to be able to use both an external microphone and be able to hear though my speakers on the ipad at the same time. Is this possible to do?

This is not possible at this time. When an external microphone is connected to iPad all audio (both in and out) is routed to the external audio interface.

This is so extremely frustrating and disappointing that Apple can't, or won't, allow this to happen. I need an external mic for much improved sound capture, but I want to hear on my phone speaker. ugh...good grief.
