Calories too low on Activity App and MapMyRide

In the past 2 weeks when I pair my cycling workout on Map My Ride with Apple Watch, the calories are now wildly under calculating. I also notice that my ring will be almost closed after a ride, but then when I click on the Activity app, the calories adjust down by about half as if they're recalculating. I've tried restarting both devices, re-pairing the apps, deleting MapMyRide.

Also, make sure that you have your watch on the wrist that you configured it to be on in the Apple Watch app on your iPhone. you can change this by going to general>wrist orientation on the Apple Watch app.


when you are wearing the watch, make sure it fits right. here is apple's fit guide:



Too loose

If your Apple Watch doesn’t stay in place, or the sensors aren’t reading your heart rate, tighten the band a bit.

 

 

Just right

Your Apple Watch should be snug but comfortable.

Calories too low on Activity App. New Apple Watch 5. Calories worked fine first few days - stopped working on 10/8/19 (?w new update?). Have shut off fitness tracking on iPhone XR - shut down both Watch and iPhone at same time (X3) - restarted iPhone first, then Watch. Have reset Watch to factory settings and set up as new watch. Nothing works. Problem for me as I use activity calories a lot. What next???
