It appears my older iPad is taking longer than the 15 min allowed when trying to restore. It then goes back to the error message. I tried a few times. What can I do now?

First, why are you restoring your iPad? Did you forget your passcode?

Yes. Forgotten passcode. I’ve tried the steps to restore several times. But it is taking about 44 min to download, and the restore process times out after 15 min (as per the article you sent)
