Charger port

Yesterday I was charging my phone and when it was at a good percentage I took it off and plugged in my headphones to watch a movie, but when I tried watching the movie, the sound was playing out of the phone's speaker instead of the headphones. I can still charge my phone but it seems not to work for music. It did the same thing for my car as well. I've tried my headphones and car input on other phones and it worked perfectly fine. What should I do?
