iPhone 7 Charge/Music Port

My phone won’t connect via a music link in the port on the phone. The charging port which is the same port is still working. I’ve tested this Port with different cars, cords/cables (Apple & non Apple connections) although the phone charges the audio does not - I’ve also tested those things with my partners iPhone and that works fine so I know it’s not the cables/connections. The phone can play sound from it’s speakers and connects via Bluetooth to wireless headphones. I can no longer play music in my car now as it won’t connect. I’m confused as the it’s the same port for charging and that’s fine.

the phone hasn’t been subjected to water damage or dropped.
