How can you dial by name versus number???

Question

How can you dial by name versus number???

Is there anyway that you can dial by name versus dialing by number? I don’t know why Apple can’t get this right.

Open the Phone app. Tap “Contacts” on the bottom center. Type what you’ve described in the search bar on top.

You can ask Siri (“Call John”).

Or you can look up your contact and call from there.

I want to be able to type in a few letters or numbers and it brings up all of the contacts or phone numbers in my phone based on the what I type in. Basically filtering.
