iPhone X swipe up not working after iOS 13 update

I just updated to iOS 13 this morning and then my 'swipe up' gesture is not working anymore. I can go pass the lock screen but when I'm using an app I can't 'swipe up'. It only scrolls. Any ideas how to fix it?

I thought I had this problem after migrating to IOS13. I could not swipe up, but found out through trial and error that if I swiped up and just held my thumb/finger in the center for a second, the app would pop up in the center for dismissal/closure. I turned off "Reduce Motion" under Settings and behavior is normal again. When I swipe up, the app appears and slides up to center for action. YMMV

Ive spent 6 hours on the phone to Apple ...installing and reinstalling iOS 13 and going in circles ... they have advised going to a store will I be penalised ? or is there a chance they will replace with an apple screen ? ... just tried 13.1 and thats not helped .... I have had a 3rd party screen repair though .... maybe some issues with ios13 and third party screens ? how many others have had screen repairs ?

I have similar issue on my iphone xs (with Apple replaced screen couple weeks ago) with IOS 13.1.2 now. The swipes stopped working on lock screen and I can neither unlock my phone or restart my phone since both require swipe to operator. I have to force/hard restart my phone to have the glitch workarounded. It's not happening now, but I am afraid it may come back sometime.

Just contacted my repair shop: he claims he used a genuine replacement screen. Told me he can re-calibrate/re-program/re-initialize the replacement screen with special tools.

Hopefully he can fix the swipe-up issue. If not, he will replace the screen.

Will post the results and if the re-program works, will try to explain what tools he used and how he fixed it.

If you have the same issue: If you have had a screen replacement, the fix is in the previous post.

Might not surpise me that is you had a screen replacement, the same fix could solve your keyboard response.

They do. After a week of assistive touch work around I called Apple and just got off phone with them. I explained issue and told them to look up this discussion link which they did. They know about issue and took a diagnostic evaluation of my phone from a tool within the systems app. They are working on problem and it should eventually be resolved but how soon who knows. Yes, Very frustrating.

Short answer NO.

In another thread i was told by Apple agent that none genuine screen could be problem.

Shop told me to reset in iTunes but that didn't work either. Will get refund and try again with another iPhone X but one that has 13.1.2 updated. A lot of hassle that is time consuming and costly to user.

Could be bug is deliberate effort by Apple to force user to only use their very costly replacement screen that should be illegal.

Swipe up doesn't work BECAUSE ITS NOW SWIPE DIAGONALLY DOWN FROM THE UPPER RIGHT CORNER - I had the same issue tryign to get to control center shortcuts, looked all over online before I actually just read the Settings >Control Center instructions - so they changed the swipe shortcut to starting upper right, drag diagonally down - you're welcome ;)
