Safari 13.0 freezing

I installed Safari 13.0 today thinking it might have important security updates. It has frozen twice already. When it freezes it also prevents me from clicking on the Apple icon to access the Force Quit menu item. I have to use Option-Command-Esc to force quit safari.

I am not using any extensions.

Also its behaviour with text boxes (i.e logins) seems to be erratic - sometimes the web page kicks me off the text input page.

I will try emptying cache etc but suspect others will find the same issues.

Are you running any anti - virus programs? Using a VPN?

Try setting up another admin user account in System Preferences/Users & Groups to see if the same problem continues. Please post back on whether or not this worked. Also try the Safe Mode. Please post back on whether or not this worked.

Safe Mode - About

If it works in the Safe Mode, try running this program when booted normally and then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor.  Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown. If the log won’t post, try posting it in Pastebin and provide a link in a reply. After pasting the report in a PasteBin page, go to the top of the page, and copy the address in the URL bar. Paste that in a new reply.        Pastebin

This is happening to me too. Usually after about 36 hours I will go to open a new tab and the page never loads. I can go to another tab and open a link on that page, but if I try to open a new address, it just sits. The odd thing is Firefox is working without any problems. I've tried all of the suggestions with no luck (deleting extensions/add in/scripts). I have checked and my system meets all the requirements. I did reinstall Catalina as it hung during the first install and I had to restart the process. I thought this may contribute to the Catalina issue, but the re-install didn't help. I am thinking of either rolling back to the last OS or just making Firefox my only browser. Has anyone found anything useful yet? This has been going on for 3 weeks and the only fix I've found is a full system reboot.
