Every time I try to update to iOS 13 I get the error 14

Every time I try to update my phone I get the error 14. When researching it says to check my usb connection and not use third party USB ports. However, I don't have a cord that isn't usb and my new MacBook doesn't have a USB port. Do I have to go out and buy another cord just to use and update my phone now? Phone currently won't even turn on due to stopping halfway through the process of updating and putting on the new software.
