I have had an ongoing message with my brother. Today, it actually changed to his Girlfriends name on the top. Yesterday he is able to respond to my message. They have separate numbers and I reassured it, with both of them. I deleted the long message and began again, with my brothers phone number. Immediately it changed to her name. There is no connection between their phone numbers. WTF IS GOING ON. THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE.

Yes they both have their own iPhones. I have never ever had this happen until I did the update last night. This morning, the conversation changed, showing it was from her and it was between my brother and I
Ask them if they share the same iCloud account. If they are, then it's possible their iMessage settings could be using that same login and things are getting crossed.
My device settings for messages and phone have not changed whatsoever,
You didn't say if their phones are also iPhones.
I could see this happening if maybe they were using the same iCloud login.
