Time Machine outlook UBF8T346G9.MS and office files not backed up.

Dear reader,

I have just checked my Time Machine backups which i have done regularly for just this sort of occasion.

I lost all my "on my computer" e-mail folders after a back to back Apple and Microsoft update.

Turns out i did not need the microsoft up date. Should have been paying attention i guess but it seemed legit and popped up as soon as the apple update completed. Sucker punched!

I understand after much research that the files from outlook 2016 should be stored in the group container files UBF8T346G9.ms and office. But my backup has not backed these files up. Why, i don't know!

I reloaded Microsoft office to recover my e-mail account but have not recovered my historic e-mail folders .

I have restored to desk top the Library file which should contain this important backup but it is missing.

Where did 2011 store the files is my next question? It will be a blow to loose the work related data and an even bigger blow if i loose it all.

This is a salutary lesson in trust . Do not trust that it is safe. Back up your e-mails separately and double check you can retrieve them.

Does anyone have suggestions how to recover e-mails from 2016 outlook other then the above location or recover outlook 2011 e-mails to outlook 2016.

Thanks in advance if you can help.

The Office 2016 folder you're looking for (it's in the same place for Office 2019 or Office 365) is in your user account.

There is also a UBF8T346G9.ms folder in the same Group Containers subfolder, but that's not the one that holds all of your email data.

The Outlook 2011 database is also in your user account.
