Yep - SE that I hadn't updated for a whiel but battery life was fine, 96% capacity. Updated to 13.1.2 and now its ruined in terms of battery life. Can literally watch it drain doing nothing and overnight in airplane mode with nothing running.
Tried a fresh restore and so forth and no change.
Please don't give me the takes a few hours, its been days of this mess. It's a laughable and why I refuse to buy any other Apple products.
Not remotely true. At the “Genius” Bar yesterday, the Apple “genius” told me that I could downgrade back to iOS 12, just that she/Apple couldn’t/wouldn’t do it. But I could find out how to do it myself on the internet if that is really what I wanted to do.
I worked with Apple Support on the phone. They couldn’t fix it, so set up an appointment for me with the Genius Bar at my local Apple Store. I brought it in for my appointment and they were absolutely awful, including insisting that I was using my phone the night before from midnight to 8 a.m., because my phone registered activity and battery drain. Even though I was sound asleep from midnight until 8 - I have cancer. The “genius” implied that I was lying and clearly on my phone. Apple was much happier to blame my battery drain on me lying about using my phone while asleep than actually fixing the problem.
Yes!! I still have a 8plus, reluctant to upgrade as I love my loopy case. 😏
since update phone DRAINS!! Just to find this forum went from 65% to 31%!!! Like what! My phone use to last all day now doesn’t get me half way through the day! I’ve turned off all background apps, even put into dark mode!
iTunes freezes, apps stutter & freeze! This is the first time I’ve ever had issues with iOS update. 😞 not good.
Severe battery drain, iOS 13.1.3, iPad Pro. In Settings>Battery, Safari is shown to be the biggest drain by far (BY FAR!). Have been going from 100% after unplugging charger to less than 50% in two hours of morning use (between 7:00 and 9:00am). At the rate of drain, will have zero left before noon. I use Safari to read articles/morning news...not watching battery consuming videos (but even if I were, this performance would be atrocious and unacceptable). Have performed all the “fixes” listed online: install the latest iOS with its “battery fix,” wait (did so for days!) for app updates to “catch up,” lower screen brightness, turn off background app refresh, close apps (and rebooted), minimize open tabs in Safari (usually only have two open at any one time, but also erased history/data and rebooted), etc. Nothing helps. There is a serious problem and it doesn’t appear to be a setting.
You can downgrade to 12.4. I did this and found that my battery still drained quickly. I suspect the battery was on its last legs and the update just caused it to die. Replaced the battery and am still on 12.x. Happy everything is ok now and the battery life is a lot longer than it used to be!
Agreed: 13.2 did not solve the problem. I was really hoping 13.2 would let me get through more than a half day before the battery was fully consumed by (per battery statistics) Safari. I’m having to charge 2-3 times per day or stay within a cord length of a power outlet, which pretty much makes an iPad much like a corded phone chained to a wall. This didn’t happen until iOS 13 and has persisted through every subsequent release.
On 13.2 now. Interesting find last night, went from 80% when I went to bed to 0% when I woke up. According to the battery usage in settings, Siri was using 100% of my battery all night. I have Siri turned off. Why is Siri using 100% of resources when iphone is sleeping?
I'm having the same issue on my iPhone X - prior to the latest 2 updates, I could get about 2 days out of a full charge, now I'm having to charge it at least once a day. A day ago I checked the battery usage and it said that the flashlight was on for 1 hour & 59 minutes - which is was not, I haven't used the flashlight in weeks. I had not accidentally turned the flashlight on, since accidentally turning it off seems about as unlikely.
I have an iPad Pro with the same update and its battery life seems about normal.
Hopefully they get this resolved soon.
Same issue to me, my iPhone 7 drop 1-2% ever minutes and heat up, no matter what i am doing, even texting people safari browsing web site still cause a huge battery drain n heat up the phone, the problem since i update to ios 13, and today ios 13.3. the problem still got no fix , and i think apple is not going to fix it at all , and force people to buy a new iphone. BTW i just bought my iPhone 7 a year ago.
Although posting this will probably jinx things, 13.3 seems to have resolved some of the issues. Although I can get a full day out the battery again (although it's ending the day at about 10% instead of 60% like I could on iOS12), doing certain things like updating apps or using Chrome still hammers the battery (albeit much less severely than it did on 13.1/13.2). At least my SE is now usable. Still wish I could go back to iOS12 for the better battery life and working Mail app though.
I've been suffering with battery draining issues on my iPhone SE since blindly jumping across to iOS 13. The only improvement I managed to make has come from a factory reset and clean install of fewer Apps at the same time as stripping Location services right back to a minimum, turning off background updates, lowering screen brightness, removing widgets, turning off raise to wake etc. This made my phone barely usable without being continuely tethered to a mains supply or powerbank, even after updating to 13.2.3. My iPhone battery health has been and still is 97% and since having these issues I've been careful to only charge my phone to 80% with periodic recharging to 100% due to the apparent increased need to recharge my phone. I also had instances (like others) when I first upgraded to iOS 13 where the indicated battery level would drop off a cliff down to 1% and on one occasion I left it for almost 24 hrs without plugging it in! Anyway I've now taken the plunge and updated to iOS 13.3 after much deliberation and the results so far are very promising. After updating this morning I left the phone to fully recharge to 100%, so from 7:15am this morning to 1pm the same day, whilst listening to Apple music on my ear pods for my 40min journey to work and light use (including a short phone call) at work my indicated battery percentage is still 90%. I hope this helps you and others to find a solution to the apparent battery draining issues, if updating to iOS 13.3 alone doesn't fix the issue.
As a follow up to my post above, my battery life has gotten a bit better with the last 2 updates, I can go about 36 hours between recharges, but this is still 10 hours less than before the iOS 13 update.
However there is still some anomaly's that I'm still seeing - according to my iPhone battery usage chart, out of the last 24 hours the flashlight has been used for 11 hours & 36 minutes, with continuous use from 8:00pm to 4:00am. With my iPhone right beside my bed, I think I would noticed if the flashlight was on.
I've also noticed that my Apple Watch is also needing charged more often since the iOS 13 update.
I'm still hoping they get this fixed soon.
I am using iphone xs max. I have a terrible battery drain after the update ios 13 and it suddenly reduced my battery capacity from 100% to 98%. Hey apple guys can you fix this battery draining issue. Many of my friends have the same issue. And it will be a great help for every iphone users.
Despite battery health, if you got that message you should likely have your phone checked.
