When I receive a text message and my phone is locked it doesn’t make any noise but if the phone is unlocked it does. It didn’t start doing this until within the last week. Why is this happening?

If the iPhone is locked, your notifications should go to the Watch by default. However, you would need to check your settings on the Watch to ensure those are configured correctly. Make sure the volume is up, that Mute is not on, and also check Theater Mode to ensure that it is off as well, since that will mute all notifications on the Watch.
