Recurring (every 2 seconds) Battery Charging Icon Flashing and Beep on Watch S4 post upgrade to WatchOS6

Hey - Yesterday post upgrade to OS6 for Apple Watch S4 Cellular, facing an weird issue. As far as I could remember, I have listed the steps before i noticed the issue in the watch

1. Upgraded Iphone7 to IOS13

2. Upgraded Watch S4 Cellular to OS6

3. Added Watch Face "Meridian" with Date, Weather Temp, World Clock and Noise widgets

4. While charging - it is beeping every 2 seconds (exactly same like when you connect charger and it shows charging sign)

5. This is repeating endlessly and charging probably is hampered and slowed down exponentially due to this.

6. I even tried changing the Face and tried removing the Noise widget and replaced with Heart - but issue persists even removing the face did not help

7. Apart from activating/opening the Noise app - there are no changes done to the App watch or software

I am really clueless why this should happen? Any help in this matter would be really appreciated.

I used both and it just started happening once i completed the watchOS 6 update. After that all **** broke loose. But, As of today 9/22/19 it started working fine! What i have done was manually remove all the apps installed on the watch that had problems with the new updated. Honestly that did the trick. try that out.

I am experiencing the same behaviour on AW S5 and WatchOS 6 with a wireless dock. I even returned the first one back to the store. Thought it was broken. The original charges works fine.

Make a genius bar appointment with Apple for an evaluation.

They have diagnostic tools and can tell you what options you have.

Do you have original charger/adapter and cable? I am reading many other threads where few saying this issue is only with 3rd party cables only while some says its across

After spending almost 25 mins with Chat advisor doing following things and then with Phone technical advisor doing the rest.

On Chat:

Upaired and paired the watch

Synced again and tried

Nothing changed

On Call:

Run the diagnostics for watch

logs were shared and Battery health was confirmed OK

A video is requested which is shared and now I am being told that in few working days I shall expect a call back once the technical teams can review the videos, logs, details i have provided so far

Lets see where this goes.

The story is there is a known issue like this (a bit different but issue is same in other thread - which says this issue comes after 100% charge, while for me this is same issue at any % charge moment : https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8569082)

I have the same issue - after updating to watchOS 6, Apple Watch S4 doesn't charge with air unleashed charger. Previouslly it didn't have any issues. Tried to reset, unpair, reinstall, but no success. It charges only with original charger now and that would be very unfair move by Apple if it is done on purpose with software, as there are so many people who already bought 3rd party chargers (and many of them did that because Apple failed to deliver their airPower charger) and it would be very unresponsibe to planet resources as all these currently produced chargers would become absolete and end up in trash. As well the current user experience of charging iphone and watch (and airpods) with seperated chargers and cables is just very bad. I hope Apple will fix this with next update.

Based on what I understand and infer - OS6 is not supporting any after market/non Apple certified chargers/cables.

Yeah, seems like today I am realising it is across board and in many different flavours but same problem. I am going to Apple store and still see if they can help in anyways

Nevertheless, I am waiting for the call back from Apple

A genius bar appointment isn't going to help you with a 3rd party charger they will say don't use 3rd party anything, none the less apple needs to fix this it is very annoying something that's worked fine all yr until this update
