iPhone Calendar: How to change from All-day to timed event

I often toggle an event to be All-day when the times are TBD. But if I want to update it to be a timed event there is no option under Edit for Starts and Ends other than the date. The All-day toggle has disappeared and I have to delete and re-enter the entire entry. What am I missing?

I don't use calendar on my desktop. This question is for iPhone only (SE running 12.4.1).

One would think, but that's exactly my issue. The only Starts/Ends options I can scroll up and down to edit are Month, Day, Year. Time of day is completely absent.
