iOS 13 Photos - Background Activity High Battery Usage

Hey Guys, also have a fix here. So what did I do:

I had 25.000 photos on my phone, some from 2009 with the first iPhone. I transferred the old photos from 2009-2016, which are about 10.000 photos via Photo App on Mac to my MacBook. Some of them couldn’t be transferred due to some broken data.

But it helped. I still have 15.000 left on my phone and another advantage is you get rid of all these photos with your Ex. Battery drain is over.

So I think some of the old photos are broken and the machine learning algorithm can’t handle them, that’s why we have the drain.

Pretty sure it would be still ok if I would transfer them, but I wanted to back them up anyway so I’m happy.

Exactly the same issue here but it’s Music app in my case. No active subscription, nor downloaded music.

Does somebody having the issue has an Apple Watch?

Same exact issue here! They exchanged iPhone, started as a New phone and still happens. Nobody knows what’s wrong with it at Apple... Did anybody fix it??

UPDATE: yesterday, a couple hours after unpairing and pairing again my watch S3 (not sure if this has anything to do with it), the Music app stopped draining my battery.

UPDTAE 2: the problem is back. Once again Music app is killing it. The unpair / pair watch S3 solution lasted only 1 day. Crap.

UPDATE3: after upgrading to 13.3, battery draining problem seems to be solved so far...

I upgraded to 13.3 and still have the problem. This is truly frustrating.

Will turn the iphone off and on after every charge work for you ?

So I will try it after the feedback provided by @sheepcc after 1 week. What I tried was to reset all settings. It didn’t help at all.

Just a quick update, it didn’t work. the photos app background activity is back again, even I have deleted half of my photos now only 1500ish photos in the phone. APPLE SUCKS

I have the exact same problem. My phone is two months old is burning hot all the time and photos is using 90% of the battery. Any ideas are welcome. Thank you!
