After updating to iOS 13 I've noticed the Lock Screen Sound stays loud even when I have the Ringer volume turned to it's lowest (not muted) setting. This happened with previous versions of iOS and then went away (probably thru an update). Anyone else experiencing this and is it a known issue to Apple?

The work around to play some music worked for me...well I was actually using an app that I had turned the volume up so I could hear it. That caused the issue. I opened the app and turned the volume down and the lock sound went back to normal. Odd that this is the only way to do it but it works.

Yup. I occasionally get it to work after a restart. But it’s not ever a guarantee. Sort of a weird bug and surprised Apple has done NOTHING for something that seems simple
I'm not on Betas, got an official update, maybe they don't release to everyone at the same time ( my wife has an 7, XS and an iPad and only I got the update ), or try manually, if they're not set on automatic.
Same here. But I think that in my case it started already on ios 13 bets on my previous ip X. After restoring a backup on new 11pro it is now the same. Locking sound volume is different every time, sometimes too loud... Apple is ignoring that. Shame.

It's very frustrating.I tried absolutely everything and nothing works.Beside the temporary fix mentioned here of course but i want a permanent fix. I did my part.. i called apple and told them about it, i gave them feedback of the problem on the apple website and i'm posting here asswell just maybe apple notices that loads of people have this problem.
i'm paying to much money for your overpriced piece of **** to have to deal with these kind of bugs.Samsung galaxy note 10 starts to look better and better with every frustrating bug i come across form this PRO, TOP OF THE RANGE, REALLY EXPENSIVE DEVICE!
By hard reset you mean resetting to how it was in the box before you bought it? If so, this is a very extreme measure considering all the settings you would have to do afterwards, and considering Apple if fixing bugs with updates to the iOS by creating newer bugs.
Thank you. Bottom line here: Apple needs to ditch this nonsense with multiple volume levels - it’s annoying, confusing, and serves no purpose. THE VOLUME SHOULD BE THE VOLUME. Whether you change it using the buttons on the phone, or the slider in the OS. Keep it simple. Ugh.
I have a hunch that it has to do with connecting / disconnecting to bluetooth in my truck. I suspect a lot of those folks are riding vegan tricycles to work and don't experience it. There's no way you don't notice turning the volume way down to not be an annoyance around others and then not hear Indiana Jones crack his whip.
This workaround works ONLY if I lock the phone while the app is open and playing sound. If i just adjust the volume while the app is open, then leave the app and lock the phone the loud-*** lock sound returns. 😒
Which previous version are you referring to?
No idea but this isn't the first time I've experienced it.
I just did a restart and there is zero volume difference in the Lock Sound between Ringer at Lowest and Highest volume.
It works but only one time, when you unlock the phone, it's behaving the same - at least for me.
I've just noticed it and also having activation trouble..
Today’s update? The last update was two weeks ago. Or are you on a beta version? However, with the latest iOS it’s not fixed
