recently my MacBook air goes completely dark when the brightness goes below full. this also means i can not charge it while still on it because when you do that it automatically dims the screen and you cannot brighten it. i am a bit stumped on what i should do and would love some help

No, but you may need to reset the Date & Time in System Preferences and reselect your boot drive as the default in Startup Disk System Preferences.
will i loose anything due to this?
