Back up iPhone but not iPad sync, don’t want messages on iPad storage

iPad only has 16G, usually around 10G is used for System Settings... SO, trying to minimize storage as much as possible. I don’t need Messages stored on my iPad from iCloud backup (from my phone), how can I stop/delete this. The extra 2G would be super to have! I’ve already deleted all messages on the iPad, but it still has the iCloud storage size on it and I can’t delete the Messages “app” from ipad. Options?

Hello,

You can disable Messages for iCloud in Settings > Tap your account > iCloud > Messages.
