Stranger than strange - Imac twenty 7" - magic keyboard - no number TWO

Stranger than strange - Imac twenty7"; - OS Mojave 10.14.6, my wireless Magic Keyboard OR the on Screen Keyboard wont type the number two in numerical (that is why I am spelling it out). It wont do that in any application, word, XL, safari, notepad. This is being repeated on my older 1" iMac as well.

I have tried everything, uninstall, reinstall keyboard. Restart, updated Mojave to latest release.

However, If use a logitech keyboard, I can type the number two. This means that the problem is to do with the "driver" from magic keyboard and Mojave. No I don't have another Mac with an older OS.

Can anyone help me?

If the on-screen keyboard also won't enter a 2. then it's not a hardware problem. What language keyboard do you have? Try adding a different language keyboard in Keyboard system preference and see if 2 works on both the hardware and screen keyboards.

FWIW, if you click on the number 2 with the mouse/trackpad and the 2 doesn't show, then it wouldn't be a hardware problem. If the key is broken and you type the 2 key and it doesn't show up on the Keyboard Viewer, then it's still a hardware problem.

If you mean the same Magic Keyboard won't type the number 2 on either your 27" or 21" iMacs, it's more likely the key has failed.

No, that normally means that the problem is with the 2 key on your magic keyboard.
