iPhone 11 pro max screen rotation

This is very disappointing. Apple is the most expensive phone and yet lacks the most important thing of screen rotate on IPhone 11 pro max. Yes you can rotate Safari and some other app; but homescreen DOES NOT Rotate; this also prevents so many other app from rotating. If they don't fix this, IPhone 11 pro max will be my last phone with Apple.

I’ve found a solution to the non rotation issue of iphone 11s. It is definitely a bug.

This is what I did:

1. turn on portrait orientation lock.
2. switch off your iphone
3. turn it on again
4. turn off portrait orientation lock.
5. it should work. It worked for me.

It's amazing I spent 3 and a half hours with Apple support and they actually tried to help me fix the problem and they finally said I needed to replace the phone. After reading the replies about this issue I'm amazed their representatives at Apple support don't know anything about the iPhone 11 pro Max not rotating to landscape mode. I was getting ready to exchange my phone until I read all of these posts. What the heck is going on with Apple that the support people don't even know what's going on.

Please RETRO back the following. Ok, Next update really needs the rotation back.

1. Can only watch Apple TV or Netflix on one side and taking pictures.
2. Speaker quality on bluetooth devices has depleted. Ill check my adjustments again.
3. Cant tap the screen on Netflix or any device and see the time. Is it the camera that made the time so small and to the left?
4. love the swipe on keyboard addition FYI.
5. Love the battery improvements and larger phone.
6. cant use 3rd party USB accessories. i.e. phone fans.
7. ill get back to you.

Interesting, I have an IPhone 11 and it doesnt rotate at all either. Why is there a toggle for rotation when clearly the phone doesnt. Frustration is setting in.

EDIT==I restarted my phone and now some apps will show landscape, but not the home screen. At there's some apps that support it. And all of this is after I installed the 13.1 update

I cannot understand why the iPad Pro will rotate the home screen, while the iPhone Pro won't. Also, I do not understand with the Face ID will work on landscape for iPad Pro but not for iPhone Pro. They both seem to have the same sensors.... Another ankylotic behavior of Apple that want to inconvenience people for no obvious reason, at least to us...

Why does Apple keep going backwards? I bought the plus for the sole purpose of a landscape/rotating screen: home, maps, and everything else needs to be our choice to landscape on the max/ plus...this decision makes me want to go back to the plus! I HAVE ALL OF MY MOUNTS SET UP FOR LANDSCAPE ALL THE TIME ON MY MOTORCYCLE AND CARS!!! THIS REALLY SCREWS ME UP! It’s more important than 3 cameras to all of us that buy the bigger phones! it’s almost 2020 get your ish together!!! :( I’m guessing you are trying to boost iPad sales by making that feature only available to iPad users. Be better Apple.

I had the same issue look in all forums nothing almost gave up until I downloaded app from Apple market it was Google Drive watch a video on it notice it was rotating after. All of the sudden the rest of my app all started auto rotating..hope this helps some of y’all

None of that works. Like others, I have spent hours with Apple support who really don't know about the latest iPhones. Landscape Mode will only work with specific Apps. It is not something that *you* can choose to do like you can with an iPad

Maybe Apple doesn't see it as big deal because it does rotate in certain Apps BUT if you need to prop it up while charging in portrait it doesn't flip the image around with the cord on top.. Also I tried to mirror my camera for my class to get a live view of some cells in a microscope in landscape and that doesn't work either. Turning it landscape does change the orientation of the resulting picture, and the .5x, 1x, 2x rotates but the mirroring stays portrait ... Please help Apple!!!

NO!! That just shows the rotation lock which stops rotation of Apps that allow it. iPads allow rotation of every screen but the iPhone 11 Pro Mac which has a large screen does not allow rotation of many Apps even though they need it

No. That’s *not* what this discussion is about - it’s about the lack of rotation generally. I have Apps (eg Mind-Mapping and Space-Planning Apps) that are useless in Portrait mode and they will not rotate to Landscape. They work fine on iPad because everything rotates when needed. The whole purpose of Buying the 11 Pro Max with the larger screen was so I don’t always have to carry my iPad... *that’s* the point

If using zoom view it doesn’t rotate. In standard view it does. >settings >display and brightness >display zoom >standard.

Also check the rotation isn’t locked (pull down from top right corner to check)

The home screen doesn’t rotate though !
