iPhone 11 pro max screen rotation

I really don’t understand it. This is not good.

My 11 pro max did rotate when setup as a new iPhone. I then installed 13.1 beta to restate from my X (not plus size) and it no longer rotates.

I restored my 11 pro max from a 7 Plus and does not rotate...

Are you sure it rotates when restored as new phone?

The entire purpose of this discussion was the Home screen will not rotate. That’s the issue.

The problem is not with the apps. The problem is with the Home Screen that does not rotate

That doesn't help. On the iPhone 11 (whatever version) that shortcut only allows you to turn Portait Lock ON but it is already ON by default. It does not allow you to turn Portrait Mode OFF

NO!! That just shows the rotation lock which stops rotation of Apps that allow it. iPads allow rotation of every screen but the iPhone 11 Pro Mac which has a large screen does not allow rotation of many Apps even though they need it

No. That’s *not* what this discussion is about - it’s about the lack of rotation generally. I have Apps (eg Mind-Mapping and Space-Planning Apps) that are useless in Portrait mode and they will not rotate to Landscape. They work fine on iPad because everything rotates when needed. The whole purpose of Buying the 11 Pro Max with the larger screen was so I don’t always have to carry my iPad... *that’s* the point

I think that they did something different with the iPad Pro, because none of X, Xs or 11 models will do FaceID in landscape. Maybe it’s possible in hardware, but they didn’t write it into the software.
