Little iPhone badge on Messages app icon

I noticed a small iPhone shaped badge on my daughter’s Messages app icon on her iPad. I can’t find anything about what it is. Can someone help?

Message badge that appears occasionally that looks like a battery icon Now and then the badge shown in the screenshot on Messages appears. I've always wondered what it is and why it appears and disappears. Today I noticed that the widget on my iPad that shows the battery charge, which was only 17%, looks similar to the mystery badge on the Messages icon. Does anyone else ever see this badge on the Message icon and is it there to warn about a low battery?

How do I get rid of the badge on my settings app? I just recently had my iPhone screen replaced about a week ago. My setting app ALWAYS has a notification badge and I believe it’s about the attached picture. How do I get rid of the badge on my app.
