iphone mic

I have iphone 8 and its working perfectly fine with me. A month ago or more the microphone stopped working in whatsaap, snapchat, and the audio recorder. Although it’s enabled in the settings. And recently the facetime calls and phone calls too. And it ONLY works when I put the headphones in. The weird thing is that it can work when recording in the camera app. Same issue happened with some friends too. Is there a way to fix this? Or maybe it requires an update from apple?

If you still have issues after testing the microphone on your device, try these steps:

  1. Unplug any accessories and disconnect any Bluetooth headsets.
  2. Avoid blocking the microphone with your fingers or case while holding the device or recording video.
  3. Remove screen protectors, films, or cases that cover the microphone or iPhone receiver.
  4. Clear any debris from the microphones or iPhone receiver.
  5. Restart your device.
  6. Make sure you have the latest version of iOS."

If you've tried these steps and people still can't hear you on phone or FaceTime calls or Siri doesn’t hear your requests, or the device is stuck in headphone mode, please contact Apple Support.

If the issue only occurs in specific third-party apps like you described, you may need to reach out to the app manufacturer for assistance with their app.

Thanks and have a wonderful day.
