I HAVE THE RESOLUTION. after experiencing this issue myself where the apple watch is requesting a password and you enter the password from your apple phone but then never receive the verification code this is what you need to do. Yes, It is because many of us have 2 apple IDs (1 for personal associated for you only "1st ID" and other possibly used for itunes and app store for family "2nd ID"). On a device (you decide) .. sign out of the apple id associated with your personal and sign into the one that the APPLE WATCH is asking for. This is a temporary sign out ... after you get the verification code to the 2nd ID then you can sign back in using the 1st ID. I have multiple devices so I signed out and back in using a secondary phone that I have. But you can do this on an IPAD or Macbook also. I would not do this on your primary phone. Once you sign in with the 2nd iD .... go through the verification steps on the WATCH again. This will now send the verification code to the device you used to sign into with the "2nd ID". Get that verification code, use it to verify the watch. Then go to the app store icon on the WATCH and choose any free app to download and make sure it downloads. Wait 5 minutes to confirm that you are no longer receiving this message on the watch anymore and then go back to that device you selected to now SIGN OUT using the 2nd ID and sign back in with the 1st ID.

These steps should save you 2 hours on the phone with TIER 2 APPLE Support.

TIER 1 apple support will not be able to fix this issue. If you call apple support, you need to specifically request TIER 2 support.

My watch keeps asking for my husband's apple id. He hasn't used it in years, no longer has the email address so there is no way to log in and out of that ID. I am going to try the two hours on Apple support because my watch is fast becoming useless. I have to cancel out multiple requests 8 times or more per day. I am so annoyed and frustrated. What happened to Apple? It used to be so user friendly and now is anything but.

Prior to the last update, my watch suddenly started asking for a Apple ID password for an account that isn't even linked to my Apple ID (it is my husbands). The only potential reason is that perhaps we shared music in the past. I have had this watch for years, and this has only just occurred in the past few months. Apple has blamed it on my husband changing his password (he hasn't) or me using apps purchased under his old ID (they're all deleted), or of course, that email still being linked to my account (it isn't). After an hour on the phone to Apple they had no fix other than suggesting I go through my iTunes song by song to work out if I had any songs that he had purchased under that ID (we're talking a catalogue of over 5000 songs). Now, since the last update over the weekend, I am getting a continuous loop of asking for my Apple ID which I have repeatedly inputted, and his ID. My watch battery lasts less than half a day as a result, and I can't use it anyway due to the continual looping. This is the most stupid thing I've ever seen happen and there doesn't seem to be any way of fixing it. I'm at the point of selling my watch and other Apple gear as the support for this issue is atrocious.

Apple is either being invaded by space invaders or they no longer care about their machines working--just selling them.

Yes, the people who answer the phone are amazing, but I am tired of having to fix all the glitches I am experiencing lately.

Apple used to make my life easier. Not anymore!
