My Apple Watch keeps asking for my Apple ID password

Onward: Haha, yes this is definitely keeping me from my sewing! I was doing this exact procedure but kept telling me it was invalid but with your directions I tried again and put in the verification code but this time it asked if I forgot my password and I clicked on change password and it took me to settings and I didn’t have to change my password it’s working now! Hopefully it will stay working. Thanks for your help, I actually don’t know how it’s working but it is for now. Back to sewing!!!

this is a bit of a fail on Apples behalf. Their silence and lack of assistance on the issue is disappointing.

I have the same problem with my apple watch. It won't let me enter the password...which I keep entering but it keeps saying that it's incorrect, but it isn't!!

Any suggestions, anyone??? This is very annoying!!

I have been an Apple user since the early 90's. This is beyond annoying. I have tried all "fixes" and still my watch is consistently asking for my apple ID and not allowing me to input this in. This consistently interrupts me when I am working out and that is totally uncalled for.

Why does Apple continually issue updates with bugs now? My iMessage no longer lets me respond to texts on my Macbook pro either with no fix in site for this as well. Mojave is a disaster and I certainly will not upgrade to Catalina. I'm going back to High Sierra or even Sierra to be done with all of this this. At least they worked. I suggest the Apple IT department get back to work and stop forcing known issues onto its customers before they lose us all.

I have a small problem with this solution, I haven’t used that Apple ID since 2012, it was only used on an iPod I think, don’t remember the password & when I try the ‘forgot password’ Apple doesn’t even recognise the email, I am stumped that it even showed up when I was setting up my Apple Watch, it hasn’t appeared on any other device (3 iPhones & 2 iPads since 2012)😩

Same here but my iWatch is asking Sign In for a password associated to my Family Share member. I have checked and my iWatch is definitely associated to my Apple ID not the other. So annoying !!! Please help

My watch asks for the password to an Apple ID I have never seen before. Have unpaired and re-paired, check that my settings are all set up with my one and only ID (same one for 7 years). Only started since iOS 13 & watch os6. Restarting my phone stops it for a while. It is driving me up the wall.

Another in a long list of bugs in the the worst release cycle in Apple's recent history.

I'm seeing this bug on my Apple Watch 3 running 6.1.1, with an AppleID that I use for a second App Store account in Switzerland where I live part time. I only use it for local apps that aren't available in the US Store. I have exactly zero of those apps installed on my Watch.

In my case, I get the incessant prompts a few times per day, and if I don't click cancel, I get the chance to enter the password from my iPhone. After I do, I'm told to enter the two factor auth code that appears on my other devices, but that code never arrives. Maybe that code would pop up on a device using that AppleID as its primary, but I don't have such a device. It's an App Store ID only.

Nice job, as usual, Apple. Their quality suffers for careless, hurried releases.

The request on my phone had stopped for a few days, then yesterday I installed a new app using my current Apple ID todo so. Yesterday afternoon (NZtime) I had the request pop up a few times, this morning it’s pretty constant, it pops upon my watch. Press cancel, then on my phone, press cancel, it then pops up on my watch, press cancel, phone then watch ad infinitum... gaaahhh!

Has anyone tried to reset in general settings? I keep getting the request for Apple ID password randomly for 2 IDs on my watch as well, and am to the point I may just default my watch and start over. Please let me know what happens, although I may just do it before I get a response here. Thanks.

My watch is asking me to sign into an Apple ID that does not belong to me! No-one has had access to my watch or phone to be able to even try and enter a different Apple ID.

When trying what you suggest above is presuming that it is my Apple ID, and has stated that it will get back to me within 7 days when I will be able to reset the Apple ID which does not belong to me!

I have had various problems with my Apple ID since the last 3 updates on XR phone, and finally had to change it to the one I have now! Now my watch is asking me to log into an Apple ID that I have never seen before!

Mine is asking for a password from an account that is not mine also. I bought a 2nd hand iPhone about 7 years ago from somebody and it is their apple id account that my Apple watch is wanting a password from. I haven't had that particular phone for years now and definitely not whilst owning the Apple Watch. Absolutely crazy. I've removed and reinstalled any old apps on my phone in case that helped, signed out of Itunes and it still is happening. I hope Apple do something soon as it's getting real frustrating.

Is there an update on the error with the iwatch asking for your password. I did the update and this happened.

I have two different accounts with itunes and icloud as we can't merge the old accounts.

Mine had stopped doing it for over a week I think, i was at home a lot on wifi. Then on Saturday I went out for several hours to a nearby city & was fine, no requests, I went out again on Sunday for several hours to another town, opposite direction from the day before. I’d been out for a. Purple of hours & up pops the request, I mostly ignored it, this evening it’s done it again.

I’m not doing any more fixes, Apple can fix it.

When you talk about Apple ID, you are not talking about the iCloud ID, right?

i have different iTunes ID but one iCloud ID for all my devices and the watch constantly asks me the password for the second ID. Even typing it on the iPhone it does not go away. Very annoying!

would appreciate a help
