wifi issues with Iphone 11 Pro Max

Hi! I dont know what is happening with the new iphone 11 ( as I have other iphones updated and there is nor issue with them) but as I connect to the wifi ( 802.1x protocol), after a certain time the conection is lost. There is wifi icon on the iphone but there is no conecction ( no ping....). After turn on off the plane mode, is working after certain time again...same thing. With other iphone 10 with ios 13 no issues.... so I think that the problem is with the iphone 11 hardware or something new on the iphone.... some one the same problem???? thanks in advance!!

Dear PJAckson76,

I would return to the place you got your phone first: mine was Verizon and even Apple support will tell you there are bad production lots of the iPhone 11 Pro there. If you have a good relationship with them there and can get all your data copied to a new version of the phone I would do that.

If Verizon is not the option, backup your iPhone 11 Pro with iMazing on the laptop/desktop of your choice and then go to the local Apple store. Ask them to run the typical diagnostics tests on your iPhone and then run the DFU(when running DFU, all data will be wiped, so be prepared). If they still find no problems; still ask them to replace the phone entirely with a new one. They will honor this because they know they need to do so. There are bad production lots out there.

When you get the new phone, have them run all the tests on the new phone and if it checks out ok, take it home and test it on your Wi-Fi first *** BEFORE *** restoring you data to it from iMazing. If the Speedtest results give you what you need you are all set to go ahead and restore from iMazing and test again.

If your results are still inconsistent and short of your expectations, it is time to change your router settings. Come back on this site and provide a router and model number and I will provide some tips which may help your situation.

I wish you luck with this, I know how irritating it can be.....but, the above process has solved this for me.

Not False! The iPhone X has Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X16 Modem. While the iPhone 11 Pro has intel’s XMM 7660. X16 supports Dual sim, and VoLTE. Let’s not forget the X24 modem, the one in the last years galaxy s10 completely crushes intel’s modem. Its pretty shameful Apple decide to use less powerful modems for they’re flagships. Also did we not forget how terrible the modems were in the iPhone XS Max. Just covering the antennas was enough to disrupt signal. Also power by intel’s modems. Lastly from my experience using my iPhone 11 Pro on AT&T, connection constantly drops speed. My s10+ 5G performs faster for a cheaper price tag. Again Apple should be ashamed.

I share your grief. As I mentioned in my previous posts, I had to get a new phone, from a good production lot, in order for it to work right. Firmware updates where just the icing that later finished the cake.

The problem right now; and in Sep, 2019 to Jan, 2020 start, Apple is producing this iPhone product in China and the quality is failing. Apple also is not, like discovered in the new 16-inch MacBook Pros, making service parts for good "carbon copies" of its devices to have on hand in the US. Therefore, the customer is not "the customer" anymore.

With new product and logistics management there has seemed to be more interest in keeping up with competing technologies in some senses and therefore, quality....like moving production out of China ("a caveman could do it [GEICO]", maybe a robot!) and not doing iOS releases near or SO CLOSE to a hardware product roll-out. The two should be a month apart.

I am not suggesting this is happening but indicators make it look more like Apple is running iOS development and hardware development too much like independent entities under one name. Of course most of us would be happy to buy a Lumix or Canon camera separately....because of these ridiculousness cameras and their overhead. Could we ever turn the camera "down" or "off" per device as need?

Apple always preached quality and not quantity. I agree. And you did so in the past. You have the most secure of the offerings of smartphones in the world but, separate the market on the camera crap and improve the quality of a "smart phone's purpose" before you have the juveniles in the market destroy your product's identification because you lost money not having an emoji camera effect that could keep up. It is like a round-about versus a 4 lane highway; you can't let your least capable driver block emergencies for the rest of societies needs. And with driving such as phone communications; medical needs!

Business uses and depends on your devices. If you continue like this, your core method and statements will not apply.

Yes, I had two clients and another company I work for go through the worst situations with defective 16-inch MacBook Pros and iPhone 11 Max Pro in my 30 years supporting Apple which too more than 30 days be resolved totally. That resulted in business loss in the form of expense/downtime.

We love the new building. We love the Mac. But stop making the quality suffer while you support manufacturing a product in another country....of which I will not elaborate on....while not even supporting the US with backing up your product line with inventory when it fails.

Also, please drop the budget on subscription services competition and put the manufacturing back in the United States. Your devices are so much more secure than other Android operating systems in phones and now in TVs....please don't spoil our image of your quality with this continuing product behavior.

Hmmmm. Maybe even manufacturing and developing in the United States will protect your intellectual property and lead to less "leaks" on products in general. Hmmmm. That might help promote products roll-outs as more 'impressive' and 'fascinating' too.....resulting in the income you need.

Dear drewt1,

No it was not.

BUT ---- if everyone who reads it and agrees ---- click on the "Helpful" and it will get passed up the ladder at Apple.

I am NOT looking for points; if that is what that Helpful click does too but, engineers and marking people do review these "Helpful" discussions so I know that I am also putting my reputation on the line but like you say, it has to be dealt with.

Take care,

My iPhone 11 Max Pro (256GB) is only 3 months old (bought Dec 2019). Yesterday it stopped being able to connect to any WiFi network. When I go to Wifi settings it shows that the phone has connected to a network, but this is not reflected on the top right corner of the phone that shows that its on cellular connection. I have tried rebooting the phone, switching Wifi off & back on, rebooting the network router. Have not erased all network data as yet as I have so many Wifi passwords saved that I will lose if I do this, and I have not found a way to back those up (Or if this is even possible). Apple stores are closed so can't walk in and get help either. Anyone have any other ways to get this resolved?

I have had an iPhone since it first came out. I can honestly say, this is the worst one I have had. The features are great. It just does not work properly. And not just the wifi. If the 12 is no better it will be a Samsung. And that from an Apple fan for many, many years. family members are saying the same about other new Apple products. Quality has disappeared.

Thanks for the suggestion David, but trust me when I say I've tried every sort of resetting.

My first call with apple made me uninstall any VPN software I had (I didn't have any). They even made me uninstall firefox!

How the **** an app used for safari content blocking could affect wifi connectivity in snapchat, instagram and reddit? No idea.

As I said, I've tried every sort of reset, both the network settings and a full factory reset on my phone.

As for my router, I've tried a couple resets and pretty much anything suggested by Apple in their wifi guide. No luck.

If this issue was easily solvable by a reset I wouldn't be here typing this out after 6 months of trying to fix this issue as a software engineer.

I've been having WiFi issues (wifi shows connected but no connectivity to the Internet) since I got the phone last year. I've tried most of the solutions to no avail. My wife's XR has Zero Wifi problems so in my mind this is an iPhone 11 issue maybe specific to the Pro Max which is the model I have.

Since I'm on the iPhone Upgrade Program I suppose I'll just upgrade in Sept (or Oct) to the iPhone 12 and hope this whole issue is resolved then.

None of the solutions given here work. Somewhere, a long way back in this thread, someone explained what the problem is. I am guessing it is too big a problem for Apple to fix. The post also explained that the design is completely different for the iPhone 12. I hope so. As soon as it is available this phone is history. The worst one ever and I have had them since number 1
