iPhone 11 on iOS 13 having Bluetooth connectivity issues

New iPhone 11 on iOS 13 is having Bluetooth connectivity issues.

both my daughter and I are having the similar issues.

daughters phone is an 11 64GB Purple.

mine is an 11 128GB White

Hers gets connected to her 2018 Toyota C-HR and constantly drops out. Her iPhone 7 Plus never had any issues.

I have mine connected to a Boss BT module on my motorcycle. Never had any issues with my iPhone X.

neither of our other phones we’re running iOS 13.

I updated to 13.1.2 It looks like "MOST" of my issues have been fixed with this latest update. My 2012 Scion xB stock stereo is now not dropping or getting garbled calls. My iFrogz headphones are now staying connected when paused in Pandora.

The only remaining bug(s) I'm seeing are:

  1. Hey Siri is somewhat spotty. Like the phone isn't hearing me sometimes. Very random.
  2. When placing a call via Hey Siri in my car, the bluetooth connection between my iphone 11 and my scion xB, will connect/disconnect several times before the dialing sound starts. Once the dialing starts, it stays connected.

I have also experienced this. My new iPhone 11 constantly loses the connection to my Ford Escape (2011) through bluetooth. I have also experienced my airpods intermittently disconnecting unexpectedly. There is for sure a flaw either with hardware or iOS 13 software when it relates to bluetooth. I wish I would be able to test iPhone 11 with iOS 12.4.1 ......best I might be able to do is test with an older phone running iOS 13 and see if behavior repeats the same as what I am experiencing with the iPhone 11. My XR was rock solid with connectivity via blootooth to my car previously. Does anyone have the ability to test with an XR, XS or XS Plus running iOS 13 that was previously working just fine on iOS 12.4.1??

I'm having the same issue with my 64gb black iPhone 11 running OS 13.1. When connected via bluetooth to my car, the connection drops and reconnects at random.

With my Beatsx headphones, there is a window that appears when pairing. The button to tap goes from "Connect" to "Done" once paired:

However, after pairing, the little window continues to pop up, basically every time I pick the phone up to use it. This actually happens even if my headphones are connected to a different device. I paired with my laptop just to troubleshoot and see if the issue was with the headphones, and the entire time, the window kept popping up on my phone. I have to swipe down to get rid of the window, and it pops back up again after a few minutes. This time there is no "Connect" or "Done" button to tap.

The connection also drops out randomly when using the headphones for a while. It disconnects and reconnects by itself, like it does in my car.

I tried a variety of potential fixes, including "Forget this device," doing a hard reset on both the headphones and the phone, "Reset Network Settings," and even a factory restore of the phone to start from scratch. The issue persists. I'm glad to see others are experiencing the same issues and it's not just a faulty phone. Hopefully Apple will figure this out soon, because it's pretty annoying.

So far no methods work except, if i put it on airplane mode, then i can hold the bluetooth connection in the car. but i have been unable to get music to play through bluetooth. Phone calls are still choppy.

I'm wondering if it's something with the firmware version of the BT in some cars since

I have no issues with my cheap headphones from amazon $12 and it connects and doesn't have any static and no dropping connection either but this is also newer within the last 2 yrs. I hope they have a fix soon. quite frustrating

I’m on my second iPhone 11 after spending many hours on the phone with Apple. They thought it was a hardware issue, Verizon tells me it’s software/non compatibility. Both items I can’t pair with (jbl clip 2 and a set of taotronics earbuds) work fine with a MacBook and an iPhone X. The 11 can see but not pair with the earbuds but not see the speaker at all. Verizon and apple can’t both be right. This is absolutely ridiculous.

My husband and I are having issues as well. We drive 2019 Nissan Versas for work and our iPhone 11 Pro Max will connect to Bluetooth in the car, but sometimes the voice is distorted. But a lot of times, it will connect, but I can’t hear anything, so I switch my phone to speaker or phone and you can hear. Then swap back to car and nothing again. We have turned off Bluetooth, wait 10 seconds and turn back on, with the same results. We have deleted the phone from the car as well as “forget device” and then re-pair, but again with the same results. However, when we delete and pair again, most of the time the first several calls will actually work correctly. Then it’s back to making a call, don’t hear any ringing or the person speaking thru the car’s speakers, switch to Speakerphone or iPhone and we hear them, swap back to car and still can’t hear. It’s really inconvenient to have to unpair and pair the phone and car every time.

My main issue was with Bose Soundlink bluetooth connectivity on non apple devices, which I like many struggle with. My immediate issue involved Bose Soundlink Mobile Speaker connections. I just found info on Bose's site, on how to reset the speaker itself. Note, I never had ANY of these problems with older iphones. Despite trying a variety of Apple iphone remedies (downloading latest software, deleting devices, restarting phone, etc, etc, I will try resetting the Bose device that tonight.

So. I have been talking to apple for about 3 days about this over twitter, I have a brand new Kia Sorento GT line S which with my iPhone XS Max worked perfectly, the problem I was having was/is, that calls were dropping and being cut short, if my series 5 watch was connected to my phone, then whenever I was in my car or at home or out and about my phone would only vibrate with nothing happening on my apple watch, it didn't even recognise I was getting a call and it just stayed in standby, then the phone would cut the call before I could even answer it, also while I was in my car, if I got a call, my ringtone sound would not come from the speakers, I would only know I was getting on because the speakers would mute and the infotainment screen would show the number calling, Bearing in mind I have had no issues With any speakers I have, UW Boom, Harman/Kardon LG etc, including my AirPods or beats, apple messaged me today telling me about 13.1.2 so I updated to that, while it did solve the iPhone connecting to the car, staying connected and sorting out the ringtones, it did not sort out the messages, I'm not the biggest fan of car play so don't really use it for short journeys, only for road trips, and I stream my music, which always worked fine with my XS MAX, ask Siri to play whatever and it worked, all of that is gone now, Siri tells me I have no music and also Apple Music needs to be on my phone, which it is, but the biggest pet peeve is messages, my car would tell me I had a new message and I could get it to read me my messages, now it doesn't work at all,. if I go to the message settings on my car it tells me its connected but it doesn't work with the new iPhone 11 pro or the iOS 13 various updates, I've reset my phone, and also reset my infotainment system, and it works for about 5 messages and now works randomly, but out of about 10 messages, only 1 gets displayed or read aloud, which is very frustrating, Im lucky though mostly everything else is working, and the phone seems to be working for calls over bluetooth now.. it was for only 2 calls mind, but hey ho, I hope we get another update that solves everything for this Very expensive but awesome phone,

Same issues as above. Iphone 11 256gb. No issues with the 8 or any prior version. Bluetooth dropping during phone calls only on 2016 Toyota 4runner. Audio/music works continuously (stays connected) if no phone calls are made or received. Other bluetooth devices drop and auto-reconnect (MPow earbud, LG stereo headphones, bose minispeaker) randomly no matter what. Never happened before this phone. Replaced device. Same issue. Called tech support several times. My call was always the first time they had ever heard of bluetooth issues, right... I told them to google the issue. They said they don't read third party sites. I said great, its on apple.com -go enlighten yourself. 1k people is not an isolated issue. Same solution as several others - go update firmware in all of your other devices - they must all not be compatible. That sounds reasonable, right... I'm convinced this a known finding and a software issue with iOS 13. Shady behavior by apple at a minimum. Man up and own there's a problem. Mistakes happen, fix them. IF not, bye bye apple.

I found a temporary solution to be able to receive calls from the iPhone 11pro in the car phone. As the old Iphone 4S works perfectly, I enabled call forwarding from 11PRO to 4S when I'm on the go. This way I get calls in the car without problems and make calls through the iPhone 4S number. But I hope it's really a temporary solution as long as Apple doesn't solve these problems.
