iPhone 11 on iOS 13 having Bluetooth connectivity issues

New iPhone 11 on iOS 13 is having Bluetooth connectivity issues.

both my daughter and I are having the similar issues.

daughters phone is an 11 64GB Purple.

mine is an 11 128GB White

Hers gets connected to her 2018 Toyota C-HR and constantly drops out. Her iPhone 7 Plus never had any issues.

I have mine connected to a Boss BT module on my motorcycle. Never had any issues with my iPhone X.

neither of our other phones we’re running iOS 13.

I updated to 13.1.2 It looks like "MOST" of my issues have been fixed with this latest update. My 2012 Scion xB stock stereo is now not dropping or getting garbled calls. My iFrogz headphones are now staying connected when paused in Pandora.


The only remaining bug(s) I'm seeing are:


  1. Hey Siri is somewhat spotty. Like the phone isn't hearing me sometimes. Very random.
  2. When placing a call via Hey Siri in my car, the bluetooth connection between my iphone 11 and my scion xB, will connect/disconnect several times before the dialing sound starts. Once the dialing starts, it stays connected.

Ah.. Disagree.. it doesn't impact the iPhone8 using the same AirPods and the same watch at the same location.... only happens with the IPHONE 11 and the AirPods..


If you have a problem with a device that ONLY HAPPENS when its near another device made by the same manufacture, then thats a problem THEY have...


Lets take the SAME situation and make it worse.. lets say YOUR PHONE doesn't work at all because its near your watch.. and apple says. not their problem its BT interference.. YET the same phone works with your BT other headphones, other BT speakers, , BT iPad, BT IMAC, but when the watch is close it doesn't.. and thats MY problem due to interference thats only apparent when an Apple watch is close by? SURE...

Still not working after latest update and mine is the iPhone X. Got nothing to do with the phones, tried all the usual ways, nothing but a spinning wheel on Bluetooth settings and Bluetooth shortcut shuts off by itself. As of April 10, 2020 Apple still hasn’t fixed this even though they just sent out an update to fix-come on Apple, get it together.

Captain Obvious, thanks for your reply.. Of course its not simple, which is why Apple hasn't figured it out yet... AND Without providing me any details at all... of course there is difference between the phones... which is why i am having the issue. I believe there is interference, i believe there is a difference in the phones.. what i dont understand is im not in a submarine, or work at power station, or or have a data center in my house.. im just guy that has an iPhone, headphones, an Apple watch and other apple stuff and i expect them to work under normal use... thats all.. nothing more.. so if my headphones dont work properly with my ipHone 11, because i have my Apple watch turned on.. and they use to work with my iphone8... then i dont care about memo, NFC, BLE and all the other stuff. Thats why i pay Apple a lot of money to figure that stuff out BEFORE I buy it so i dont have issues like this.. AM I CLEAR ABOUT THIS? or are other Apple gear heads going to try to deflect the issue from the real problem???? And BTW, it happened in my home and outside my home.... so, unless the interference is coming from my head, the problem lies within the devices themselves.

I sold my iPhone 11 and bought a $100 dollar Moto Android and it kicks iPhone 11's butt. It's faster, no bluetooth problems plus longer bluetooth range, better LTE reception, Battery lasts longer and Google assistant is the same if not better than Siri. I'll wait till Apple resolves all these problems before coming back to Apple. "Hello Moto" , LOL, love that ring tone., LOL

my first phone and my first activity here hopefully I am responding in the right place..

I am using plantronics legend few years with many Samsung models with no problem, with the iPhone it’s keep mute the volume so I can’t hear the GPS. I purchase this phone from Apple 3 months ago, for first time I am not so happy, because it was my first device I placed an order to have experience with different device and to support COVID-19, I do have more problems and issues but I believe that part of them it’s because I don’t know how to work with Apple, the Bluetooth Issues definitely not fun

I’m happy for you but you clearly aren’t having issues like us so why even reply? Trust us I’m certain most of not all of everyone here has if you’ve read the complaints all they are saying to do is remove device , restart your device, set it up back to factory specifications.. and it doesn’t work so excuse me but thanks but no thanks for your comment.

I agree with you Ghost Bmw! While I appreciate those consumers reporting that their Iphone 11 works flawlessly, that does not help the rest of us those having the issue(s). I’m truly happy for those that have no issues, but with all due respect, it really is like a slap in the face for those of us having the SAME ISSUE(S)..


Honestly, this discussion helps is share our frustration with all of us having the same problem. Hopefully Apple with finally fix the issue.

My iPhone 11 pro sounds like the CD is skipping when I use Bluetooth

this happens with all the devices I own.

my car

my friends car

7 different cars at the dealer

sony BT speakers

LG BT speakers

4 different brand new head sets from bestbuy

3 other brand new headsets from target

brand new airpods

This is the second iphone11 pro I have tried Apple gave me a new one the first time I complained about this but the second is also broken

my iPhone SE works fine along with 3 different android based phones


I told Apple its still broken but they didn't respond

I finally gave up and stopped testing stuff. Im just going to see if it ever gets fixed and when I need a new phone get one that works next time.


you got me this time apple enjoy the 1200 dollars it will be the last you get from me

Joel, I spent a year one day at the Apple Store trying to resolve this problem, and prior I spoke to Apple Support on my phone (without using Bluetooth). I replicated the issues at the store and only received blank stares.


Aside from screwing up my phone's settings your suggestion doesn't help those with serious issues. I'm happy for you that you aren't suffering with the majority on this post.
