New iPhone 11 on iOS 13 is having Bluetooth connectivity issues.

both my daughter and I are having the similar issues.

daughters phone is an 11 64GB Purple.

Hers gets connected to her 2018 Toyota C-HR and constantly drops out. Her iPhone 7 Plus never had any issues.

I have mine connected to a Boss BT module on my motorcycle. Never had any issues with my iPhone X.

If you can't connect a Bluetooth accessory to your iPhone ...

iOS 13 has following improvements and nothing in specific to Bluetooth change has been highlighted by Apple in iPhone 11

Control Center

You can now select Wi‑Fi networks and Bluetooth accessories right from Control Center.

Game Controllers

PlayStation 4 controller support

Use your PlayStation 4 game controller with iPhone.

Xbox Wireless Controller with Bluetooth

Connect your Xbox Wireless Controller with Bluetooth to iPhone.

Find offline devices

Locate a missing device even if it’s not connected to Wi‑Fi or cellular using crowd‑sourced location. When you mark your device as missing and another Apple user’s device is nearby, it can detect your device’s Bluetooth signal and report its location to you. It’s completely anonymous and encrypted end‑to‑end, so everyone’s privacy is protected.

Bluetooth album art

iOS supports the AVRCP 1.6 standard, which includes album art when connected to a supported car kit or speaker.

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth location privacy enhancements

API changes and new controls help prevent apps from accessing your location without your consent while you’re using Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Yeah I tried it on lots of devices as well

the guys at the apple store reset everything and also gave me a new phone which also does the same thing

I haven't heard an issue wired though

during calls I have to ask for the person to repeat what they said lots of times

playing music it happens less often

I haven't seen the call drop in 5 minutes like the previous poster though

This iPhone 11 is a complete bust and they have a very loyal customer seriously considering an Android phone now! Way too many of us having the same Bluetooth issues (especially vehicle hands free systems) regardless of the year and make of the vehicle. Own the problem Apple and make this right and stop giving out "new" replacement phones with the same problem!

It's not a "complete bust" as there are literally millions of people using their phones daily with no issues.

The problem is when you are the one having the issue, you feel as if everyone is, and I get that.

Apple has many engineers working on BT issues, and they do as much as they can, but they can't have one of each device made to try it out.

In general, if they can reproduce it, they can fix it, if it's their problem; if it's say a bug in the car's software, all they can do is report it to the other party.

So if the iPhone can't pair with a UConnect system in a Jeep, Apple can fix it if it's their issue, otherwise all they can do is log a bug report with FCA.

No Chief...this thread is now 124 pages! How many people are having the issue and just have no idea that this thread exists? How many have gone by the Apple store only to get told that "your phone is fine" or "it's a problem with your car/truck"? I don't know how much Apple is paying you, but it is not going to change the opinion of folks on here dealing with a piece of junk phone that cost much more, but has much less functionality than the previous iPhone X.

So true - it’s just the most frustrating situation. Normally a problem can be solved by preserving but in this instance it’s just impossible to get a solution or admittance by Apple that the fault exists .. I’ve concluded that it’s such a massive problem that they just won’t admit the fault exists as their liability would be massive.

I've updated to 13.5.1 and I still am having connections issues. Usually drops off after a few minutes. I thought it was my car, but am now starting to think it's my new Iphone 11 pro. If anyone else has been having this problem, can you share any way to resolve this issue. Very frustrating to have a great nearly new car with lots of extras and no ability to use the phone hands-free anymore. It worked fine with the new phone for several months. It seems to me this issue started around April 2020 when there was an automatic software up-grade. My auto dealership has looked for a software up-grade for the vehicle but there is none. Since we all are not driving a lot any more with ( SIP) it took me a while to realize this was a problem. Any one with ideas....would be greatly appreciated.

William, if your phone is working perfect, let’s swap phones? I will DM you and we can swap address send phones, means I can leave this thread and be a happy iPhone user listing to music and make calls when in my car with out interference... sound like a good deal? I bet not. There is no way all cars are broke. I doubt my car maker going to give me a 20 plate car as it’s not working... when it did with every other iPhone ... they changed the bluetooth technology and now it is dreadful and will never be fixed

SOLVED.

I went to the nearest Apple Store, I had already done all the tests they would do (the Genius Bar attendant said it) so he said "I'll replace your iPhone".

With the first iPhone I had dropped calls and the sound was lower and darker, but I couldn't know it as I couldn't compare with other iPhone 11 Pro Max.

No issues with car Bluetooth or Bluetooth earphone.

I've actually had two 11 Pro Maxes that have worked perfectly with Bluetooth; the first had a bad ring/silent switch and I swapped it out last year.

Not "all cars" are broken as many work perfectly.

Odds are it will be fixed someday when your auto maker gets around to an update.

Search the web for reports of Android BT difficulties with many of those same vehicles; they are plentiful.

I did check the VIN and there was an update that I applied. But I was also told that the most recent iPhone that was guaranteed 100% compatible was the iPhone 8.......

That definitely sounds like an issue with your automaker.

For the record, as both phones are Bluetooth 5.0-compliant, they should work the same with devices that have their BT stack implemented properly.

What they're telling you is an automaker can't be bothered to test their system with a phone that's one of the most popular in the world and that's been on the market for seven months now.
