iPhone 11 Pro Max won’t charge wirelessly

Brand new iPhone Pro Max 512gb, last night didn’t charge wirelessly.

  • No case on phone
  • Belkin charger that works on my XR

See the image attached, support claim it was charging but there wasn’t enough power getting through so the battery didn’t charge. Their solution was to turn off a feature that is in place to extend the life of the battery.

Im thinking I just need to return the device as it is clearly faulty, any one else had these issues?

See images.

There is the feature of the phone charging to 80% and stopping which is supposed to help with battery life. You should be able to go into Settings / Battery / Battery Health and switch off Optimized Battery Charging.

In iOS 13, a new charging algorithm will keep your iPhone at 80% when charging overnight. That algorithm will determine when you typically wake up and start the day, and restart the charging sequence to give you fully charged battery when you wake up.

I’m also facing the same problem with my partners iPhone 11 Pro, I had complained to the Apple support app and all they did was send me links to how to use a wireless pad, I’m like what the ****, I know how to use it, the phone is faulty!!!!!!😡 still got links to how to use wireless pad. Best way to fix this is to take the iPhone to Apple store when wireless charging doesn’t work to show them that it doesn’t work.

I have an 11 Pro and purchased the Ubiolab Charging Stand from Costco. I was pretty certain it was charging for about a week and then it stopped. I took the charging stand back to Costco thinking it was defective and purchased another. Unfortunately it would not charge either which made me wonder if it was never charging in the first place. I tried an another phone, a X I think, and it charged just fine so I assumed my phone was not compatible and was going to return the second charger until I saw these posts. I rebooted the phone and it now charges.

Apple, please fix this bug.

My 11 Pro Max started wireless charging again after installing 13.3 on 10th December and was fine up to yesterday. It was charging happily, picked it up to take a call, put it down and wireless charging had again stopped! Re-boot has it charging again but to anyone on this thread just keep an eye out for the ability to wireless charge to stop suddenly.

Took mine to Genius Bar. They wanted to first wipe my phone and not use my backup due to a possibility of a corrupt or virus.

I would have to download every app and put in the login info.

They would not take my word that it doesn’t charge sometimes wirelessly.

They also told me they had not heard of the problem before

If I keep it charged relatively high then it WILL take a charge wirelessly.

I have this problem too since I upgraded from XR to 11 pro 64 GB.

XR was working fine everytime I put it on the charger.

With 11 pro I have to reboot the device at least twice a day to get the WC working. I'm running the latest version available of iOS.

I purchased the phone 2 months ago. Apple has not fixed this bug yet and seems not aware about this.

Apple please, wake up and do something. It's about your top of the line iPhone!

I have had the exact same experience with different hardware. Although I have an iPhone 7 Plus, and i use a Qi charger case and Qi certified charging pads. I hadn't used wireless charging since August 2019 as I traveled and took the charging case off. I seen no issues with charging prior to IO 13 release. I also use the do not disturb mode when sleeping and thought it might have been due to that mode, however, I have had it not charge during the day hours outside of the do not disturb time. Interestingly enough I have never used the low power mode but did turn it on testing it out prior to putting on my qi wireless charging case. I found two temporary fixes is to reboot the phone, or less extreem, unplug and plug back in my qi lighting connector to reset the interface. I originally suspected iphone 7 + had an update change that turns off charging but the charging software dosen't presume the 7+ Phone would be using a Qi charging and doesn't attempt to search for voltage again and waits for a physical connection reset to allow voltage to flow again. After seeing all these other issues in other replies, I am wondering if this simple function was missing in the 13.x updates.

I have reached my limit with iphones. I receive the latest update two days ago on my 15 month old iPhone X 256, and woke up finding my phone became a brick. It was working fine last night when I put it on my charger. I have tried resetting the phone, Verizon tried resetting it and apple rep tried resetting it. After no one could get it going I was forced to purchase an iPhone 11 since the iPhone X 256 memory is the same $1;000. The apple rep said they could send it in and diagnose the issue for $549. Really??? And do what while it’s gone? It’s a freaking business phone. You’ve already cost me $1,000 more than I should have to spend. plus I had to buy a new otter box since you changed the lenses on the iPhone 11 pro which is comparable to my old iPhone X 256.

How much more freaking money does it take to get a working iPhone. If this new one craps out I’m buying an old flip phone and done with dealing with nonsense from a company that simply doesn’t care about the customer and only wants their money!

then I get the new iPhone 11 home only to find out it won work on my wireless charger.

Same here, problem solved.

I had this problem with an iPhone 11 Pro Max and posted about it earlier in this thread, believing that it was a software bug.

Now I got the iPhone replaced with a new one, it was covered by the warranty. And the new one does not have Qi charging issues, same OS version and same contents.
