iPhone 11 Pro Max won’t charge wirelessly

Brand new iPhone Pro Max 512gb, last night didn’t charge wirelessly.

  • No case on phone
  • Belkin charger that works on my XR

See the image attached, support claim it was charging but there wasn’t enough power getting through so the battery didn’t charge. Their solution was to turn off a feature that is in place to extend the life of the battery.

Im thinking I just need to return the device as it is clearly faulty, any one else had these issues?

See images.

There is the feature of the phone charging to 80% and stopping which is supposed to help with battery life. You should be able to go into Settings / Battery / Battery Health and switch off Optimized Battery Charging.

In iOS 13, a new charging algorithm will keep your iPhone at 80% when charging overnight. That algorithm will determine when you typically wake up and start the day, and restart the charging sequence to give you fully charged battery when you wake up.

Same issue with my brand new Iphone 11 Pro Max 256gb. It is unbelievable expensive and it wont charge wireless.😡

If i reboot the phone wireless charging works fine for a day or two, then it stops working. I then need to reboot the phone again. I`m really ****** because this has never been a problem with my Iphone X. The X has been amazing and i have only done wireless charging on that phone. After the upgrade to the 11 Pro Max i`m very disappionted since wireless charging is one of the benefits of this phone !! and a needed function. If this is a software issue i hope for an upgrade as soon as possible.

Phone is running IOS 13.2.3

iPhone 11 Pro owner here.

i have this problem now since around a month that suddenly wireless charging stops working and now my battery was deep unloaded couple of times because inam not observing my phone in the night if it loads. After going battery-empty and reboot then wirelesscharging works again suddenly but who knows how long. I have bought whole house with anker qi-pads, with iphone 8 everything working fine, but iphone 11 Pro not. Should i go to apple store returning it? It‘s big expensive journey for me thus i ask beforehand

Mine seems to last a couple of days after a re-boot before it stops wireless charging. I was lucky the first time it happened as I was low on battery but needed to connect the phone to my computer to synchronise it and realised the battery had not charged despite being on the charge mat for a couple of hours. At least I didn't head out with low charge which could have happened.

I understand there may be an OS update this week so fingers crossed that brings a solution.

One of the items addressed in IOS 13.3 is a bug fix for an issue that prevented Qi wireless chargers from topping up the battery at full speed so fingers crossed this solves what was happening for us. I've no idea if my Qi charger was trickle charging as it has a green light which turns blue when it is charging and as it did not turn blue I assumed no charge was happening.

interesting

have you powered down from the settings general menu?

I'd try that and charge with it off for awhile then reset all settings if that does nothing

Obviously there is a problem with so may people having issues - perhaps in a new update it will resolve.

I've found variations of powering down with assistive touch to doing it fully through menu to resetting settings or

turning off toggle all settings like airplane mode etc slowly then back on that or log out of cloud and back in usually fix most problems

I've had this problem you are describing but a restart and careful placement of phone solved the problem for me

These fixes all address the issue when it happens. However, the underlying problem remains the same - it KEEPS HAPPENING. Every other day I’m rebooting my phone to restore its ability to wirelessly recharge. It always fixes it, but it’s ridiculous that i have to keep doing this. Either they correct it in an update or this entire line of phones has defective hardware (at least some of them, anyway).

funny thing is - for years the only sure thing to fix on was to toggle slowly airplane mode and power off and restart

I had so many issues I just started to to it every day

Then I did it every time work was removed or moved on device or updates

funny thing is that almost no problems after doing that

for me it is almost daily because I get from 1 - 40 updates a day

so it just works out as part of my routine

my son does it every few days when his iPhone 11 pro max hiccups

ALL iPhones benefit for at least once a week powering off and back on

if you don't like it don't pay the money
