Getting rid of Message exclaimation mark

Did a clean install of iOS 13 on my iPhone 6s Plus, and it seems you must go though the introduction screen when you first start Messages app.. I quit the app half way through, because i didn't wanna bother with it, Now i got an "exclamation" mark on Messages and dunno how to get rid of it.. I have a feeling this would have gone away if i went throgh the intro in its entirly, but all i wanted to get to my messages.. I don't really acre about the new features of Messages, or explanations i am not even gonna use it for, which is why i quite the app before finishing..

How do get rid of this ? Fo rsome reason it irritates me,, i think their is a new message

I tries turing off notifications on Messages and turned it back on thinking that would clear it, but it didn't.

Any solution?

Hi Tech198,

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today with the exclamation mark badge on messages.

Have you checked for any unsent messages in the app?

I also suggest checking your name and photo settings, since that's one of the new features it was trying to show off. You don't need to enable this, but you can learn more about how to view these settings in the article below:

Use Messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Try force closing the Messages app: How to force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Then try restarting the iPhone: Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Let me know how it goes.

Have a great day!

There is no messages in the app..

I also tried a factory restore "Erase all content & settings", including a restore from iTunes, to no avail.

Done the force close messages as well, as that was the first things. This only started after iOS 13, so i thought iOS 13.1 update would have fixed it, but nope..

In addition i always do a restore via iTunes, i never really just update.
