Apple maps connect phone number verification

Need to update info on business and then claim it. Phone number that is listed for current page in apple maps is incorrect. When I go to enter the new number and request verification call, I am unable to receive the call because there is a brief "your call may be recorded for quality and training purposes" message that plays prior to the call ultimately being connected. The apple verification code come during the time of the "your call may be recorded . . " portion so that is given prior to a person answering the call, thus we can't ever get the verification code. Please advise work-arounds for this situation. Can I use a cell phone number for the verification code call and then go back in and put the actual correct business number once it's been claimed with the code?
