The marks from my Pencil are disappearing, but only on the bottom 1/3 of Word documents. And when I annotate PDFs on PDF Viewer, the marks remain but a swath of the PDF text is whited out below them. I have restarted, changed Zoom settings, tried different documents. Nothing is helping.

I suggest that you reach out to Microsoft for assistance with their product.
Microsoft Word is the only place I see them disappear. It's not functioning properly in PDF Viewer though, as I mentioned. The marks don't disappear, but they white out the PDF underneath them. The pencil seems to function normally in PowerPoint and Pages. I should also add, I've been annotating documents for months on these programs; this issue has arisen only in the past two days.
