Apple Mail and Google Authenticate

Running Mojave 10.14.6 and Safari 13.1 - Last night, changed a password on Google. When I open up my accounts, prompts me to re-enter password to take account online, and when I click to allow for authentication in Safari, locks up. Safari will open, just not take me to the google site that I need to enter new password.
