Why when Imessage and facetime are turned off on your phone these messages still get sent. Is it something to do with turning the phone off/on or turning flight mode off/on or moving from a wireless environment to a provider. It continues to happen and nothing i do stops it. My provider tells me these are phantom charges inthe Apple Community. Needs to stop as it cost me more than the legimate calls and SMS I send.

What country are you in? What carrier are you using?

You are likely being charged because you are using an unsupported carrier. If you cannot switch, you need to sign out of FaceTime and iMessage (not just turn them off).

You need to follow these steps:

  • FaceTime: Go to Settings/FaceTime. Tap on your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.

iMessage: Go to Settings/Messages. Tap on Send & Receive, then tap on your Apple ID and tap Sign Out.

Once you have done that there will be one more text to the UK for each to notify the server that you have signed out, but there should not be any more after that.
