Spilled liquid on mac laptop

I spilled liquid on my mac book pro notebook. I dried keyboard as best as I could and turned upside down to drain any excess liquid on keyboard. It worked again after an hour, but died after that and won't power up. It does charge, however. Suggestions?

What liquid? Plain water is bad; carbonated or sugary liquids are very, very bad.

Also, if you have homeowners'/renters' insurance, put them on notice of a potential loss. The majority of Apple laptops that get wet do not survive. At minimum you are probably looking at over $500 in repairs and, in the worst-case scenario, looking at a new computer. Unless you have AppleCare+, your own insurance may be the only financial relief available to you, subject to the usually deductible.
