Notifications in Messages Selectively Ignoring a Contact

Hello!

I recently got a new iPhone 11 pro and have run into a very strange issue.

My messages application is ignoring notifications from just one of my contacts (inconveniently my girlfriend ...). If I receive a text from her the following happens: No notification on the lock screen, no badge notification, no blue dot next to her name in the app, but there will be a new message if I click into our conversation. I think I'm still getting banner notifications but it's tough to tell for sure.

Every other contact is working. I don't have "hide alerts" on. I've restarted my phone, deleted the contact and deleted the conversation. I'm running IOS 13.1

Any tips for fixing?
