It appears the last iPhone update broke our phones. My husband and I no longer receive notification of our text messages to and from each other. It works for other contacts but not ours. How do we fix this? Can we remove the update?
Try opening the Messages app and on the main screen swipe the messages from your husband to the left. If there is a blu icon with a bell (with no slash through it) tap that icon. If the icon doesn't have a slash through it, the messages from that person are silenced.

My wife and I have had this problem for awhile. I looked for the blue bell, but didn’t see it.
I found the blue bell, but after messing around I get no sounds and no vibration from my wife and others and my wife gets no sounds but get vibrations.
Text message notification on only one contact doesn’t work.
