I spent 90 minutes on the phone with Apple support last night. I restored my iPad 6th gen to factory settings then restored from backup and still no search bar either by swiping down at the middle down or from newsfeed on the left side of the screen. The Apple advisor could not find any other reference to this problem in his database. After he connected to my iPad and we did a lot of troubleshooting he could not find a solution and escalated the matter. He’s going to bring it to the attention of the engineers and call me back on Saturday with an update.

Why change this? Apple updates are usually great but this one is unnecessary and annoying. On top of that all of my folders and icons were rearranged on my iPhone! 🤬

yep. That finally worked. (swiping from the center of the screen, not the top)
Swipe down on the home screen on a blank space in between any icon
Yes, swipe down in middle (not from top) of home page, between icons on iPad.
I lost my search bar with the last update how do I access search from the spotlite bar?

From iPad’s Home Screen go to the very center of iPad’s display. imagine there is a crosshairs on the iPad’s display, pull down from the center of the crosshairs to access Search.
