How do you delete group text suggestions on iOS 13?

This fuking ridiculous! Where is the privacy protection with this? I mean, imagine if you were texting to a group of employees about a issue with a boss and you didn't want your him to know that you even were in some kind of text conversation with the group. He could easily have you type a few characters and then realize that the group were texting each other. Imagine if it were a company phone? Maybe ppl need to sue apple a few times!

They seriously don’t care. We’ve been complaining for months now. It’s not a hard fix. They fixed it many years ago and it was fine until now. I seriously can’t use group messaging for work. It’s affected my job like no other. I’m still in a lease and I’m stuck.

Step 1: Open the Messages App on your iPhone > Open the group text you want to leave. button. Step 3: Tap on the “Leave this Conversation” option at the bottom of the screen, and you will be removed from the group text.

it never mattered before whether you had the original group or not. It use to be a no brainer to delete those suggestions. In a group now you get from someone else, recall is either add to contact if not in your contact. Or worse. Delete entirely from your contact. Even if someone sent me a group from their phone, if they are using an android phone THEY will be able to ignore any suggestions if their phone does it. But I am stuck seeing someone else’s group. And really long deleted contacts showing back up? The fix is not for the user but for Apple to fix. Once upon a time they bragged how you could free up seeing useless text suggestions by using the circle with the little i in the middle. The suggestions were useless then & are useless now. But bc we can’t remove them it is harassment.

Now we get a drop down that shows everyone in the group and from there you can add those not in your contacts or of in your contacts allowed to delete them. I take that to mean actually delete them as one of your contacts. The drop down choice use to be where the circle with the i in the middle allowed us to instantly pick to remove the suggestion. Most we can do is notify Apple of the issue. And hope its fixed before its in the news a horror story of how this feature removed caused trouble. It is a disaster waiting to happen. Loved having the feature REMOVE from recent in messages. It made sense having it. Not having it makes no sense unless we NEVER receive suggestions in the first place. You see something to share with only a few people thinking just this one time. Then will delete the group suggestions. Now they are there waiting for you to use again or send to all accidentally. If you delete them out of your life they will haunt you in messages with their name popping up.

Been googling this for months to see if there is a way to remove history group texts as i am a coach and send group texts but some parents have changed phones so now it’s hard to work out which i send to since it keeps all history. Do we believe apple will resolve this soon? If not i’ll not buy apple phones again as this is driving me crazy

I also logged a call with the apple helpdesk as this def needs fixing quickly. Ideally in the next release as it's basic. Why would they remove this.. So when typing 'A' I get everyone appearing just about.. Please apple sort this out and resolve it quickly..

anything new concerning the Inability to delete group text suggestions? And so tired of hearing from family to “get over it” or “pay attention”. Especially since text was sent to group instead of individual today! Have contacted Apple as well, no satisfaction. Maybe time for Sprint and Samsung....

Well apple don't seem to care there are also other issues now when receiving text messages apple keeps suggesting avatars and names from iCloud every time your contact messages you I Ajay have photo of friends I want to keep and don't need apple annoying me in every text to use THIER option.

About time apple started listening to the customer but hey we are only little fish why should they care!!!!!!!

I went into a sprint store and the guy told me to use the text app WhatsApp instead. Really???? So I have to give everyone at work a new number just to have group conference texts??? Apple has really screwed up with this one.

This is wild. What if one of my friends or family members' pass away? And I am stuck with being haunted by their name. I've been trying to clear it out for someone I don't want to text... I can't believe I am stuck with his info forever???? Against my will?

I've been to the apple store multiple times on this. the apple store is a joke everyone in there is fixing problems never buying anything and they dont honor appointments. you have a 350pm appointment and that just means you are there are 350 they dont understand the concept of what an appointment is. anyway i was asked why do you want to do this. i said cause i hit s and there are 50 suggestions before i get to the one i need. they said just go to the name in your contacts i said that's not the point. the samsung s20 5 G (gangster) is so far ahead of anything apple has put out its amazing. that's where im going. it will be iPhone 20 before they match the specs. seriously nothing has changed besides speeds in an iPhone your buying the same junk. im out of apple iPhone as of march 5 2020

It's not the learning they are all very close. It's the fact that nothing runs smooth with Mac. I can use my windows computer but then I have to buy another external hard drive. To save the music etc. I'll wait for iPhone 12 if no improvement I will go to a Samsung and never do apple again

This is a big problem and hopefully Apple can solve it. It is correct that you used to be able to delete group "suggestions" but I don't think you can do it now. I've never seen such clutter when I try to type a text now. I even called Apple support and got not help.
