How do you delete group text suggestions on iOS 13?

this is beyond annoying. Twice I have sent a group text to my kids to only find out that I selected the group that included my daughter’s ex-husband! Fix this.

i had an Android before, and it is beginning to look very appealing.

Thanks for confining update is real! This “home arrest” is necessary but stressful. Grateful for any diversion, especially an easy & comprehensive fix for a super annoyance.

I just downloaded the update & I still get old group mesages I have used in the past. I cleared out my messages before trying too & they still come up. Not as many but still enough to be a pain!

I did the update, got rid of most group message suggestions. What I’m thinking is that it is only giving me suggestions for the groups that are currently in my inbox. I don’t have any super old suggestions like I used to. 🙏🏽

This does not solve the problem. I know that the people at Apple are not stupid so I do not know why it’s so hard to answer a simple question. I have an iPhone XR, and let’s say I’ve sent a message to Susie, Bob, Linda, Joe, Patti and Ralph —- I cannot ever get rid of that particular group. It ALWAYS shows up as soon as I type Susie in a new message. So let’s say I don’t want Ralph in the group anymore, since I cannot delete the previous group (which is what I WANT to do) I have to redo the whole message without Ralph. So then—guess what? Now I have TWO groups that start with Susie and it is VERY easy to tap the one that includes Ralph. DO YOU GET IT?? And the reverse is true. Let’s say the first group text did not include Ralph. There is no way to simply add Ralph to the group. Instead, once again I’m stuck with multiple groups. Now I need to scour every name in each group text to see which one I need to use—oh, and guess what? If it’s not exactly the same group (you remember, the one that cannot deleted!) I once again have to create yet ANOTHER group. I cannot tell you how many people hate this new Apple “technology” that somehow failed to include this very practical feature that every iPhone user has relied upon in the past. It’s ridiculous.

So what is the answer? How do we delete or add to a group text. I’m guess that Apple has NO answer for this flaw bc everything I’ve seen on this topic from Apple does not answer the very simple question—how do we delete or add???

FAIL!!! I can’t find any way to delete these group suggestions in text messages. Everything in settings is turned off. I have a large family and years of old texts half of which aren’t even the same number anymore. This is annoying and wrong.

Puzzling, as there are those like me that once you delete the group texts after sending...I also go as far as totally closing the message app...the group suggestion is automatically not showing. Use to be the old long gone groups along with other any phone contact you ever grouped with THEIR contacts showed up on my phone. Still hesitate to group send but the few times I have just closing message not just leaving it to go to another app, really swiping up to close. Always a hard reset to fall back on. Keeping old text I believe a few let it be known as long as those group texts are not deleted...you will get the suggestion. If a message is important one can always take a screenshot of the message prior to deleting. No idea why many are PROBLEM SOLVED and others are struggling with it.

Is there another way can we delete the message from suggestion

I tried the above and it didn't work. I wish Apple would go back to when you could delete the whole group by swiping

Agree, Apple needs to fix this and go back to they way it use to be. Please fix it

Clearly Apple is apathetic regarding this issue. So much for customer service. Time to consider the multiple other options available (Android, Google, Samsung etc.....)

When is apple going to fix this issue? The above stated "work around" does not fix the problem. I too continue to get hundreds of old, old, group iMessage suggestions. This is EXTREMELY annoying!
