Can old iPhone update new Apple Watch?
iPhone’s “watch” app refuses to update Apple Watch, because it says iPhone must be updated first. But iPhone 6 is already running 12.4.2. Now what?

I was trying to get from 5.3.1 to 5.3.2, but I later discovered that 5.3.2 isn't relevant to my Series 3. If memory serves, I was offered 5.3.2 for an instant by my iPhone the first time I checked, but when I tried to accept it, I got the complaint that the iPhone wasn't updated. Now, the iPhone no longer makes that offer.
