MacBook Pro with T2 Crashes Using Facetime

I've seen various threads about this problem but none with a reliably working solution. Since upgrading to 10.14.6 (and with all subsequent updates applied) I can crash the laptop just by holding a Facetime or zoom video call. The call will last a few minutes then kernel panic.

Has anyone suffered similar and worked out a fix, or at least a workaround. For the moment, I'm using my iPhone for video calls.

Chris,

I'm loathe to hand over my MacBook Pro to Apple Support given that this seems to be a general problem with the T2 that no-one in the community has yet found a fix for. My suspicion is that a firmware update will be needed.

See https://venturebeat.com/2018/07/25/apple-t2-chip-blamed-for-2018-macbook-pro-and-imac-pro-crashes/ for details.
