How long did available balance take to update

How long does Apple Credit Card take to update balance after payment from checking account. The payment posted on Tuesday and it is Friday and my Available balance is still not reflecting the payment.

I do not recommend anyone get this card! After being on the phone with reps for over half an hr and being transferred to multiple departments I received an answer that it takes 7-10 days to reflect a payment into your account. The payment was immediately deducted from my account but would take 7-10 days to reflect on my Apple Card balance. Worse credit card and card service I have ever experienced. The only way for a payment to immediately reflect on your available balance is to put money on your Apple Cash then pay off your Apple Card with the funds from your Apple Cash. The most ridiculous thing I have ever experienced with a credit card; I already closed the account after a month, not dealing with that!

Hi Community,

I have tested twice in the past two days now that my November balance is available. I transferred $2000 from my bank to my apple cash card instantly. I paid my balance with the apple cash card. It gave me my $2000 immediately on the Apple card. I transferred the remaining balance this morning (had some trouble with my bank letting me do so much at once). Paid it again and sitting happy with all of my credit returned to me. I would use this method and let us know if it works for you. It's silly to have to do it that way, but at least it is a good work around.

Got the card in November of 2019. Made at least 15 payments that were instant. Meaning as soon as I closed out of the wheel to make a payment my available credit had changed. Fast forward to February, I made a payment on the 13th and then the 14th. Both payments have yet to be posted to my available credit. I have done two online chat with Goldman Sachs. Both times I get these scripted answers: payments posted depends on your bank, payment amount, and account history. However they can not tell me why all of a sudden this has changed for my account. Using the same bank accounts I have had since opening the card. No return payments or any other problems. I have been told it will be the 19th and 20th till my payments will post. The money was taken out of my bank account the day after my payment. So I am frustrated that no one can give me a good answer. So I called the Goldman Sachs number listed in the wallet/card. First person I talked to gave me the same scripted answer. She also said that they can’t see why my account has changed. So I asked to speak to a manager who maybe could tell me why. Talked to a manager who also gave me a scripted answer. She did agree with 100% with every concern I had. She could not see why my account had changed and she agreed that I had done nothing wrong. So I very much voiced my frustration with this card. If you google about Apple Card they want to be this number one card for transactions. Well you have to take care of your customers if you want to be that. In this day and age waiting days on your payments to post is unacceptable. My Discover card is next business day. I got this card for the cash back feature and the ease of using it with my iPhone. Maybe I need to rethink my choice....

I was also told to do the Apple Cash payment method if you want instant available credit. So I tried one more time to see if maybe the amount I paid made a difference. I made a $10.00 payment and it did not reflect on my available credit. Then I added $10.00 to my Apple Cash from my same bank. Then I made a $10.00 payment using the Apple Cash and it was instant. It also showed on my bank account as a immediate debit card transaction. So I guess jumping through the Apple Cash hoops is the way to do it.

I've used the trick where you transfer the money from your bank to your Apple Cash account... then pay the Apple Credit Card account from Apple Cash. THAT method is instant (or reasonably so). The longest I've waited is about 5 minutes.

I've also paid direct from my bank (not using the Apple Cash as an intermediary) and had that happen instantly as well.

My other half has the same bank ... and the payments can take anywhere from 3 - 10 days ... even though the bank will show they pulled the money almost immediately.

Keep in mind folks... your bank does not "push" the money to Goldman Sachs... when you make a payment using the Wallet App... Goldman Sachs "pulls" the money from your account. So when you watch your bank balance reflect the payment, GS already has your money... they're just not giving you credit for it.

THAT is why GS is doing a scam.

While they do this, they're dragging Apple down with them. Apple shouldn't put up with it.

Talked with a rep and the best way to get your available balance to instantly allow you more funds is to transfer the funds into apple cash and make a payment with the apple cash instead.

The card balance will instantly reflect the amount paid and the bank automatically withdraws the funds.

Agreed that the extra step is stupid, ** a good way to keep getting the cashback

I have read here that most of you have experienced the huge delay. I only read one or two posts that suggest after the first big initial delay, payments became instant for them. One did mention they made smaller payments as well. Could anyone confirm one of these as additional workarounds or solves?

And yes, using Apple Cash and planning ahead of time seems to be the only confirmed work around for instant payments currently. For me, I have to do it over 2-3 days due to a restriction on amounts I can put out to Apple Cash daily from my bank.

I have the same issue. The payment has been "completed" and "credited to my account," but not reflected in my available balance. 😕

The "Apple Card Specialist at Goldman Sachs" said that it takes "several days" for the Goldman Sachs Bank USA, Salt Lake City Branch to do their side of the transaction. So they can be pretty slow with actually putting it in your account.

I think I finally figured it out. If you transfer money to your Apple Cash card it changes your available balance immediately. That’s because both digital cards are processed through web bank. When you make a payment using your bank account it goes to Goldman Sachs and then they have to alert web bank to update the available balance. Not sure why the process isn’t smoother but that’s what I came up with. Also I have a lower available limit compared to my wife and same thing happened with her first payment- her available balance updated within seconds. I’ll find out next week if it’s still the same for hers when I go to pay it!

Same boat. I paid on Thursday (granted it was Thanksgiving) but I am STILL waiting for my available balance to increase. I contacted Apple twice and they said I have to wait a couple of days. Unreal. It came directly from my bank account. They did recommend to transfer money into Apple Pay then pay it for an instant reflection. Will do that in the future.
