Twitter links won't open in app

I came back to the iPhone after a decade with Android, only because of the battery life. I can tell you this is an Apple problem not a Twitter problem - Android's been opening associated apps from links forever.

Honestly, this is one of those issues that in this day and age i can't believe how Apple cares more about vendor lock in than user experience. Twitter != Apple so F Twitter and the users that use the app. Unbelievable...

Not working for me, just tried to open a twitter comment in a news article from Apple News and it did not work. I was prompted to install Twitter and then from the app store of course I could not install because it is already installed so I click open and I'm taken to my page not the post in question. #applefail

Resetting all Settings should provide a solution on your iPhone for your Twitter link issue.

Go to Settings—>General—>Reset—>Reset all Settings.

Be sure you know all the passwords you will need such as WiFi network, banking apps, etc. You will need to re-enter Wallet cards for Apple Pay. Any tweaks you’ve setup such as Dark Mode, accessibility functions, etc will need to be redone. *All* settings will be reset to default. If you have any site tabs open that you want saved, add them to bookmarks or notes.

Setting my iPhone 11 Pro back to the way I had it before resetting all settings took me about 10 minutes at most.

I had the same issue and I managed to get it to work. I did multiple things so I’m not sure which one of them ended up fixing it. I’m on 13.2.2

What I did:

1)Deleted Twitter

2)Cleared Search History in Safari App

3)Settings>Safari>Clear History and Website Data (It’s redundant but that’s what I did)

4)Turned Phone Off and back On

5)Downloaded Twitter/Signed In

After that links opened back in Twitter app like they used to before.

*When in settings I also set Open Link to Background (Preference) although I’m not sure if that had anything to do with the fix.

Obviously this issue isn’t a browser issue so using a different browser will do nothing. It’s an app issue— the Twitter app.

Try restarting your iPhone. Updates have solved this issue.

if that doesn’t work for you, delete the Twitter app, restart your iPhone & then reinstall the app.

My iPhone X is on 13.3.1. I fixed the problem. This is what I did:

1) cleared safari cache (didn’t fix it)

2) deleted twitter app, reinstalled it, and signed back in (YEAY!!!!)

Its actually is Apple's fault not Twitter, because also other links like Google Maps and YouTube links don't open naively. And it was fine in iOS 12

Twitter is not Apple product. Contact the app developer here --> App Support

Signal boosting this post. Even if the links don't automatically open in each app natively, at least give us the option to do so when we hard press the links.

I am having the same problem. It started after iOS 13.1.2 update

Huh? I’m piggybacking.

Nonetheless, that didn’t and doesn’t work.

It worked on my iPhone 11 Pro.

But resetting all settings does nothing at all to solve this issue on the iPad Pro.

Therefore, what works on one device will not work on all devices.

This is an Apple problem. Apple iOS is not detecting that my iPhone has the Twitter app installed.

Same issue! ... hopefully this gets addressed soon, it's REALLY annoying !!!!
