Twitter links won't open in app

After updating to iOS 13.1 I lost the ability to open links to tweets in the native twitter app.

So far I've tried the following, in a variety of different orders:

cleared cache in safari

deleted twitter

reinstalled twitter(from app store, via download links, etc)

restarted phone

I've even attempted to take a link, put it in notes, and hard press to get the "open" option...this always just shows safari as the only option. It's as if the phone doesn't recognize the app is installed, thought it never prompts to open with or install the app in safari.

Hoping someone else has experienced this and has a solution.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond to me. I definitely understand it's not an apple product. I have already exhausted the depth of that document and scoured the internet for possible fixes. It works fine on my 3 other iOS devices, but on my phone I can't get the links to open in the app. They are all on the same patch level. There's plenty of references of other people having this issue in the past, however the "fixes" then aren't possible in the new OS.

I came back to the iPhone after a decade with Android, only because of the battery life. I can tell you this is an Apple problem not a Twitter problem - Android's been opening associated apps from links forever.

Honestly, this is one of those issues that in this day and age i can't believe how Apple cares more about vendor lock in than user experience. Twitter != Apple so F Twitter and the users that use the app. Unbelievable...

Not working for me, just tried to open a twitter comment in a news article from Apple News and it did not work. I was prompted to install Twitter and then from the app store of course I could not install because it is already installed so I click open and I'm taken to my page not the post in question. #applefail

Resetting all Settings should provide a solution on your iPhone for your Twitter link issue.

Go to Settings—>General—>Reset—>Reset all Settings.

Be sure you know all the passwords you will need such as WiFi network, banking apps, etc. You will need to re-enter Wallet cards for Apple Pay. Any tweaks you’ve setup such as Dark Mode, accessibility functions, etc will need to be redone. *All* settings will be reset to default. If you have any site tabs open that you want saved, add them to bookmarks or notes.

Setting my iPhone 11 Pro back to the way I had it before resetting all settings took me about 10 minutes at most.

I had the same issue and I managed to get it to work. I did multiple things so I’m not sure which one of them ended up fixing it. I’m on 13.2.2

What I did:

1)Deleted Twitter

2)Cleared Search History in Safari App

3)Settings>Safari>Clear History and Website Data (It’s redundant but that’s what I did)

4)Turned Phone Off and back On

5)Downloaded Twitter/Signed In

After that links opened back in Twitter app like they used to before.

*When in settings I also set Open Link to Background (Preference) although I’m not sure if that had anything to do with the fix.

Hope this works!
