Powerbeats Pro sometimes won't charge one of the headphones

Sometimes I find after I put my powerbeats pro headphones back in their case to charge, that one of them just didn't charge. It is like it didn't make a good connection when I put them in.

This has happened a few times now so I am careful to test to ensure that they're stuck into the right spot and should be charging. But when i go to use them i find one is almost at zero and the other is at 100%. I don't think there is a light indication that both headphones are charging.

This has happened with 2 different sets of headphones for me. Does anyone else experience this problem?

Once again left earbud not charging well. Tired of getting ready for a run only to find one of them not charged. After the first three or four times finding them dead I am super careful to place them on the charger... still having issues. For the price should not have to constantly fiddle with them.

Same thing happening to me, to the right earbud. After some fiddling, found that the earbud stays connected to my iPhone. I have to go into Settings -> Bluetooth and disconnect it (by staying connected, the battery gets used - just for the right earbud). Similar to an earlier posting, the right earbud gets knocked off the charging pin when I close the lid. My workaround is to leave the case open while they charge. I agree with others, either bring them to Apple Store for replacement or get the Airpods Pro. I had trouble with the wired Powerbeats and now with the wireless PowerBeats Pro - unfortunately, this will be my last Beats purchase.

I have this problem happen all too often as well. It’s either that or one of the ear buds, usually the right, fails to connect to my phone and I either need to put it back in the case or re-sync the headphones. Ultimately the product is not easy to use, smooth, or dependable since the point is not to carry the case around 24/7

I have this same problem. I have to very carefully insert the headphones one at a time and ensure the red light comes on. It usually takes a few tries. Then I leave the lid open, because closing it seems to jostle the headphones just enough that they lose contact with the pins. Even then, sometimes I go to use them and they are not charged. Very frustrating design flaw that could have been easily avoided with a better charging system.

I've experienced the same thing. I have not altered the ear hooks though for my ears. Just left them as they came. However, quite frequently I find that when I put my headphones away at night and then the next morning one will be almost dead even though I made sure they both were firmly placed in their respective slots in the case.

Appears to be some flaw in the design since so many are experiencing the same issues. Bit of a shame as this is quite an annoyance for such a premium priced product.

My left earbud recently died on me (the buttons stopped working entirely, although ironically they started sort-of-working again the day I got my replacement). The problem is now quite rare, and even the right earbud charges just fine the vast majority of the time, when previously it was almost as bad as the left. I only got a left-earbud replacement.

It’s worth pointing out that as part of the standard troubleshooting process, I had to unpair and re-pair my Powerbeats Pro. During the short period where I had to wait for my replacement earbud, charging with both old earbuds seemed to be more reliable, although I only had them for two more days before swapping out the left. So for anyone still experiencing issues, give that a try. It’s a pretty quick process.

in Addition to one of my buds not charging I’m wondering if they are using some sort of heat sensor that detects that they are on the ears or in the case. I’ve started noticing more than often that my phone will connect back to my headset after putting them back in the case from a workout. Not sure if maybe the heat from sweating gets trapped in the bud and it causes a heat to trap within the case making it think that they are still on my ears.

They do use infrared sensors to detect when they’re inside your ears, but that’s not what’s happening here. What you’re observing is rather the earbud thinking it got taken out of the case (due to losing contact with the charging connectors). As I described in an earlier post, this would happen with my case just sitting on my desk not moving for several hours, but is exacerbated when throwing the case into my travel bag, for instance. The slightest movement has the potential to pop the earbuds out of their charging connectors, and it’s infuriating.
